In response to the "PLEASE PEOPLE!!" comment left on the ratings website for Portsmith: I think the purpose of Apartment ratings.com is to make the consumer better aware of any positives or negatives an apartment community may have. I think calling this service a B&%@H session is a bit much. I guess the truth hurts. I wouldn't call the Better Business Bureau service a B&%@H session and this website provides nearly the same function as the BBB does. Get over it. If you really review the issues the tenants have placed, each has merit. Maybe Portsmith should change their ways and they will have happier residents. Also, I've heard from a former leasing agent at Portsmith, that the office staff regularly posts positive ratings on this website to counter the negative ratings.
Moving into this place may be easy... moving out is another story. If you have a pet (other than a fish) you WILL be charged a large fee upon move out. Any spot on your carpet will be attributed to a pet stain, even if your pet NEVER soiled on the carpet. Your pet deposit will be taken away as well as a large fee (upwards of $700 or more) will be charged to you for "carpet replacement". Heed my warning. I had a small spot on my carpet from a can of pop that was accidentally knocked over. I cleaned the spot and you would never know it was there. The maintenance person pulled the carpet back and found the spot on the padding and the apartments charged me to replace the entire carpet (for the WHOLE APARTMENT). Trying to discuss the excessiveness of the move out bill was a waste of time because the real estate company (HSC real estate) was unwilling to reach an agreement and the representative hung up on me when I tried to ask questions about validity of charging me for the entire carpet replacement instead of only the small area where the stain was. My best advice is to stay away from renting at this apartment community. The rent is quite spendy for Everett. The grounds need to be better kept and the dog feces is everywhere. I also saw many cars get broken into as well. You may want to check the criminal records with the Snohomish County sheriff or Everett Police before moving in here. The neighborhood has had a large escalation in crime in the last year. Should any previous tenant or any future tenant have a question or concern about this apartment community, I will gladly provide honest feedback as to my experiences living here.
