Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
My little family moved to Washington in January 2003. My Aunt, who lived in Washington, took great care in finding an apartment for us. Out of all the apartments she looked at, I thank my lucky stars that she found Sunrise Lane. We only signed a 6 month lease, since we weren't sure of our plans. At the end of the 6 months, we decided that we could do better for the price that we were paying. What a joke, we went through at least 20 apartments, and both my husband and I were humbled greatly!! Nothing even came close for what we were paying. Our apartment was gorgeous, we had an amazing apartment manager, and our needs were continuously met within hours of our complaints.
Let's start with the apartment manager, Margo. She is unreal. There was never a time that I didn't feel like she was totally in control of every situation. I can think of at least 10 problems that I had in the year and a half that I lived there, and not one of them went more then 8 hours without them either being completely solved, or getting a phone call telling me when they would be solved. I think that people are so used to apartment managers ignoring their pleas so much, that they assume it will be the same everywhere. I was absolutely 100% thrilled with the management.
Not to mention the "fix-it" guy, Antonio. Not only was he quick to fix any problem we had, he was also incredibly friendly. I never had a problem with things after he had fixed them. He also did an amazing job with the landscaping and clean up.
As for people getting towed after 9:00, I find it funny that the same people who are complaining about parking, are complaining about their friends not being able to stay after 9:00. That rule actually helped people to find parking, not to mention it helping with the noise at night. The apartment security was also wonderful. I had to call them twice while I lived there, and they were very quick to respond.
As for the noisy apartments, it is not as bad as you might think. I barely, if ever, heard my neighbors. At one point, I had a problem with my neighbors waking me up with there alarm clock in the morning, (just because I am a very light sleeper). Like an idiot, I put up with it for about 2 weeks, and then I finally went to Margo about it. She gave them a call, they moved it to another wall, and I never had another problem with it again. She even called me back to let me know what she had done to fix the problem.
I don't want to judge by any means because I know that people have every right to complain about the problems that they have, but you also have to take into account that they usually have 1 or 2 incidents that happen in a space of 2 or 3 years of living in an apartment. Everyone, even an amazing apartment manager such as Margo, can have a bad day. All I can do is speak from personal experience, and not once did I regret living at Sunrise Lane. I loved my neighbors, they were incredibly friendly, and yes, the parking was difficult from time to time, however, where is it not in apartments. Personally, I loved listening to the bullfrogs at night. My daughter and I even went in search of them sometimes. They never bothered us at night, and we were in the building right in front of the wet lands.
The apartments have huge beautiful windows, with big open layouts! I loved having my own laundry room with built in shelves. The walk in closets were great! I loved the gas fireplace, it was a very cheap, not to mention an easy, way to heat during the winter. The livingroom, dining room and Kitchen are basically in the same huge room. It was such a beautiful apartment and we miss it greatly! The only reason we left is because my husband got transferred back to Utah. I would whole heartedly recommend this apartment to anyone!!
