Okay, after reading the previous reviews... I was a little confused about why there were so many bad reviews... so I figured I'd set things straight and submit a mostly good one. :) I've been in Windstone Apartments for over a year. There are some things I like, and some things I don't like... but I think the things I like outweigh the things I don't.
Parking: You have to pay if you want a covered spot, but we didn't want one. There is always a place to park by our building. We have never had trouble finding a spot, even though we don't pay for a reserved covered spot.
Noise: There's some noise occasionally, but it isn't anything unbearable. After all, there ARE seven other apartments in my building. I'm not going to expect to hear quiet all the time! It's usually very quiet at night, with the occasional exception.
Grounds: Some people don't pick up after their dogs (gross!). Some of the land around my building is muddy and wet. It's not uncommon to see cigarette butts laying around... and some trash as well. The landscaping around the office is nice. I wish that as much care was taken for the landscaping in the rest of the complex.
Construction: Overall, pretty decent. The only problem that I can think of is that the apartments could have been better built for ventilation. I've heard of some mold problems (will cover that in a little bit), and I think those problems would have been minimalized if the apartments had been built better for ventilation through the whole house. Also, what is up with the carpet in the dining room' Very likely to get stained. My opinion is that all the carpeted dining areas should be replaced with the laminate flooring like what is in the kitchen.
Maintenance: I saw a previous post saying the two maintenance guys here were college rejects who don't do anything or something like that... I think that's a load of crap. Anytime that I ask maintenance to get something done, it gets done. It gets done quickly. It gets done right. The two guys doing maintenance here are by far the best maintenance team I've ever had at an apartment complex.
Staff: Awesome staff. They are really friendly and give personalized attention to their residents. They always take the time to answer my questions (no matter how stupid my questions are), and they are really on top of things. They especially were on top of my recent mold issue in my apartment (more on that coming up). I also like how they respect my personal preferences as well. My example of that is that they KNOW I can't stand smelling cigarette smoke (and they tolerate all my complaints about it... even though they themselves smoke!), however... they do obey the 25 foot law that is enforced in Washington State... AND they make it a point to not smoke around me. Just one example of how considerate they are of my personal preferences... Ways they can improve' Quit smoking!!! Hahaha. Seriously though, they are good. They are much better than the previous management staff that was here. I hope they don't leave for as long as I am here!
Mold: Okay... about the mold issue I've previously mentioned. There was a way nasty mold problem in my apartment. Smelling it made me feel like I was going to throw up! The only way that I could breathe was by opening all the doors and windows in the house. Even then, sometimes I had to stand RIGHT BY the windows. Anyway... when Jesse (the apartment manager) and Geoff (the maintenance manager), found out how gross it was, they immediately took action. They were totally on top of everything. Among the many things that they did for us, they relocated us to a new apartment in the complex (same floor plan) within a week and gave us a full refund of our security deposit on the nasty apartment. I am baffled by the people who say that they don't do anything about the mold! They took great care of me! I mean... they COULD have said, "Oh, sucks to be you... and it's probably your fault anyway... so uh... get out of our complex... and no... we won't refund your deposit... and you owe us lots of money for that nasty apartment..." but they didn't do that!
OVERALL: I think that we get a lot for an excellent price. I don't plan on moving from this complex until I can afford to buy a home. Definitely worth it to live here!

metmon, I posted this in 2007, when it was accurate. If I had to change anything about my review above... it would be in regards to maintenance. When they come, they get the job done and they do it right, just like the last team did, but I don't think they are very timely in their response... and they frequently break their appointments without a phone call to me.
