I have lived here for a few years now and I cannot wait for my lease to be up. I can't move out of this place fast enough. The new management company (Wiedner) is jacking up the rent to astronomical levels and this outdated building is just not worth it. They recently re-painted the hallways and laid new carpet, but it's not much of an improvement. The hot tub has never worked in all the time I have been here, the pool was indeed resurfaced this winter but good luck if you want to use it - it's FREEZING cold ALL the time.
The mailboxes are not secure - move here if you like to dabble in mail fraud. I open my mailbox and the whole unit comes apart, giving me access to other tenants' mail. Good thing I am honest, eh' I can't say the same for some of my neighbors - I have had mail stolen on two separate occasions.
Maintenance' It's a joke. The maintenance person does not speak good English and it is near impossible to decipher what he is saying. Not only that, I had a potentially dangerous maintenance problem last year that took 2 1/2 weeks to resolve. Appliances are constantly breaking down, and be prepared to pull some serious teeth if you want to get a new dishwasher or stove. It took one of my neighbors' ovens SETTING FIRE before it was replaced. You will get a constant stream of bad information and cheap quick-fixes from maintenance. And sometimes, when you have a problem, the management literally shrugs and says, "deal with it." I am sorry, I am not paying almost $950 a month to "deal" with maintenance issues. If you move here, be prepared for management to call maintenance problems your fault.
Security is also lacking - there are finally a few security cameras here and there throughout the building, but there are no cameras where they are needed the most: the parking lot. Cars are routinely stolen, tagged with spray paint and getting their tires slashed in the parking lot here.
Seriously - if you want to live in this area there are much cheaper and much nicer ways to do so. Most of the best tenants are jumping ship and I am one of them.

FIrst of all, whoever is writing this email has limited to no credibility. I would like to correct some of the statements made by this person. A: the hot tub is and has been in working condition through the entire pool season. B: There is security camera's throught out the building, at each enterance and through out the parking lot and the amount of car break ins and vandalism has dimished to almost none over the past year, thanks to the new managements more strict screening criteria and the ongoing monthly block watch meetings held by a long term tenant. C: If you read the brochure that management sets out in the lobby there is not one aparmtment style in the complex that rents for over $900 so I am confused on how you would be paying nearly $950 per month. Rents are going up everywhere, at least Weidner is making improvements to justify the rents. D: I have lived here for almost 8 years and I know that the carpet in the hallways that WEidner replaced had been here since 1985 when the place was built. This WAS a huge improvement. And last but not least, maintenance may not be able replace every appliance each time a customer demands a new one, however, he does a great job of completing the repairs and is one of the friendliest maintenance people I have ever met in all of my years of renting. Overall, Bayview is a very quiet and affordable place to live and the management is the best we have has since I moved in 8 years ago!

Wow. I thought it was against the rules for the management to post here anonymously.
A rebuttal:
1> Yes, there are security cameras in the HALLS. None in the parking lots as of late. Diminished vandalism? Okay, then if the cars getting tagged 4 months ago isn't vandalism, what is it? Also, what do you say to the 3 tenants who had their tires slashed last month? Did they run over a nail?
2>I WAS JUST IN THAT FREAKING HOT TUB AND IT IS COLD AS ICE. Hot tubs are supposed to be...HOT. Who knew?!?
3>There are several different brochures - one of which lists apartments for $915 a month. I would say that is over $900 a month, wouldn't you?
And to the last person who wrote: How dare you? High rent = desirable tenants? What is your problem? There are decent people, disabled people who live on limited budgets and cannot afford this rent increase. So just because they aren't rich they deserve to live in slums? In the many places I have lived across the country, people with limited incomes have been MUCH better neighbors than the aloof people with money who seal themselves up in their SUVs and shut off the world with their iPods.
I stand by every word I wrote. I am not looking for an appliance replacement every time something goes wrong. I am simply looking for a place that will provide the amenities they advertise (the Bayview DOES NOT,) and who will not do quick-fix patch jobs on maintenance issues. A few cosmetic changes have indeed been made at the Bayview, but what can I say? Polish a turd, it's still a turd.
