Not sure what to think

I went for a stroll through this property today 6/12/08, and it was not a very informative venture. The woman that showed me around did not have much of a charm about her, and lacked most knowledge of the property. She has been there since October 2007, and by now should be able to show her apartments for rent and know their details. Tisk Tisk as far as management is concerned. The porperty sits on somewhat of a pretty landscape, but not as nice as the more expensive Cove Apartments across the street. Anyways I am still in AWW of the Cove, but Cove East has a man made pond towards the center of the property, a plethora of Douglas Fir trees scattered about, many geese, ducks, and other wildlife. Although the scenery is great, as I passed by some of the geese I was hissed at by two geese while trying to dodge the large amounts of goose phesis on the path that goes around the pond. Further more the pine needles are scattered about the parking lot and could probably only be scooped up with a snow plow. I also found litter on the grounds to be a problem. (What type of fine could the state impose for endangering wildlife I wonder''')
Management Blooper of the day, "we are the Cove's evil step sister, and we have no money in our budget for anything extra." Let me some up todays outting for the next person that may try and rent from this property. Poor management, poor grounds keeping, apartments are very small and a larger person would not beable to get around in the kitchens. Many creeks going up and down the stairs inside the apartment. The pond is pretty, but if you like your shoes clean I wouldn;t suggest walking around it due to phesis EVERYWHERE. According to management, "oh yes, we have been trying to get that cleaned up, we are just waiting to hire a grounds keeper."
for affordability: 7
for cleanliness: 5
for management: 2 only because they could breathe and walk simutaneously.
for parking: 4 You get your own space, but with the pine needles you will need to paint your car every other year.
location: 8 it's close to gym, grocery, bus, mall, etc.
overall: 5.2 this property was better than some others but worse than the Cove across the street. I am going with the coves clean, quiet, smooth operating property with no goose poop and threats of getting bit. If you can afford 960 a month go to the cove you will not regret it.

This almost sounds like a shill from "The Cove" that is badmouthing their competitor. I can't even fathom someone who has trouble parking their car on pine needles or is too fat for an entire kitchen--much less degrades a place because the geese hiss at her. (Maybe the geese don't like fat chicks, either.) Cove East is a fine place, in that one thing they do that others don't, is to conduct an actual background and credit check that most apartments charge for, but don't necessarily do. This sorts out most of the riff-raff, low-lifes and sub-humans and makes for a better and safer community.

I lived here for two years. My main complaints were
a) management always had that "deer in the headlights" stare whenever you tried to approach them. Like you caught them doing something they weren't supposed to, or that you were bothering them
b) I had a car broken into twice and stolen once. In TWO YEARS!
Otherwise, it was affordable (2 bed 2 bath for 775, if I recall) and maintenance was great...except for the time they stole an ounce of pot out of my medicine chest. But you can't exactly COMPLAIN to anyone about that, can you?

WARNING, they do not let you line up sub-renters. They delay and delay the processing of their application because they are lazy and unorganized. Then they come after you legally for the last 4 months rent. Why didn't they just process the person's application-- it took them two months to process the sub-leaser's application and credit check, and she could not wait that long!! She was a nurse, married to a doctor, and Cove East's new management company was faxing it to the wrong place!! Now they have been calling me for a year and a half demanding the last 4 months of rent, refered it to collections, all for their mistake! How could they be that stupid!!?
