Regret renting here

Management is terrible. I agree with others that some of their staff are rude. I also agree that they send their staff to go inside your apartment without giving you notice or ask for your permission. Just recently, the management sent a plumber without giving the renters notice. The plumber entered our apartment while the door was locked. Another renter told me that they too did not get any notice from management and next thing they knew while they were sleeping, the plumber entered their apartment while their door was locked and the chain on their door was placed on the hook. It is unbelievable that the plumber unlocked the door and unhooked their chain while the tenants were sleeping. How can that make you feel safe living here. I now cannot sleep at night worried that anyone can just enter my apartment. How sure are we that the workers the management send to do work in our apartments do not make a copy of the keys to our apartment. Also, that is a violation of our privacy. I can't believe that anyone could just enter our apartments even if we lock our doors. I also hate their policy on late rents. If you are late, they will send you a threatening letter of eviction. They charge $50 $5 day $30 NSF until you paid your rent. They have no consideration. They give renters 3 days grace period. If you are late twice, you cannot pay with a check you must pay with a money order or cashier's check. People do not like paying for late fees so if they are late sometimes, there must be a good reason why. Not everybody gets paid on the 1st or 3rd of the month. A lot of people are paid on the 5th of the month. Management do not know how to keep their renters happy. They should review their policy. There are a lot of things I don't like about Glen Park and their management. I will be looking for a safer place to live.

From the management: While we understand that unexpected situations may arise, we are obligated to abide by fair housing regulations that require us to impose the same standards with every resident to avoid any allegations of discrimination. As it states on your lease agreement, your monthly rent is due on the first of every month, however you have until the end of day on the third to pay rent before you start accruing late fees. Additionally, if rent is paid and is returned from your financial institution, our property in turn is charged a fee. Lastly, we notify residents twice before the plumber is scheduled to come out to do repairs. We first send a notice informing residents of the scope of work and then we send a 48 hour notice to enter so that residents have time to clear out the areas where the work will take place. There have not been any reports of our vendors entering an apartment without prior notice to the resident. The plumber that we contracted to conduct the work has had to reschedule numerous apartments because their areas were not cleared out. He has also been kind enough to fix minor issues that he notices while in the apartment or he will call the office to inform us if he notices something that needs attention that he is not able to remedy on his own. We take great pride in providing a safe and comfortable living environment for everyone and we invite you to share your concerns with us so that we may address them accordingly.

To management: Thank you for your reply however, I must tell you that we really did not get a notice and so as the other renter that I spoke to. Sure we appreciate what the plumber did - that was great but the complaint here is entering our apartment without notice. Have you read other people's review? They too complained that you sent your staff to enter their apartments without prior notice. One lady said that when she complained about it, one of your staff called her a liar. It is possible that you posted your notice but some kids may have taken out those notices (who knows). Maybe there is a better way in giving out notices like calling the residents. In regard to late rents, I do understand your policy but my question is, do you really need to send out threatening letters of eviction? PLEASE MAKE GLEN PARK a good place to rent. THANKS FOR LISTENING.
