----------OLD REVIEW---------UPDATE BELOW------------------
I like the place for apartment living. I also found this apartment on the web, and moved in from across the country. My husband and I have been here for 6 months. Our two bed two bath apartment was clean and there were no problems when we moved in. We actually requested to be on the list for the next available garage near our apartment, and finally got it after 5 months of signing our lease. I have to admit that that was a long time, but we are happy that they did not forget about us though. The garage costs us an extra $75 a month. We opted not to have carport parking since there is no guarantee that no one would occupy your carport spot at any given time. You can call the towing company's number that is posted at the carports, but we don't want to bother with such a hassle. We haven't encountered any trouble with The Lodge. We don't mind having to park by the pool area when there are no spots available near the apartment. A short 1 minute walk would do us a little good anyway. The only circumstance that I would recommend a carport spot over a garage is if someone has a vehicle that's longer than an Explorer. (My neighbor's truck would definitely not fit in the garage.) We can hear some neighborly noises, but what can you expect when we are sharing a wall and floor/ceiling' We have pretty decent neighbors. People are cordial and friendly. We have a neighbor from downstairs and across the hall that have dogs, and the noise is very minimal. Even my happy-go-lucky 1 yr old Lab is well-behaved and is not a barker at all. (We try to take her to the Kent dog park that's 10 to 15 minutes down the road to expend her energy a couple of times a week.) We crate her when we are not home to keep things in check. As far as I can tell, everyone is pretty good about picking up after their dogs. I notice this stuff since I have to walk my dog everywhere, and watch my step just in case. I've been pretty poop-safe. I've met one of the maintenance guys, and he seems to be on top of his work all the time. I don't really know the office staff too well since I'm only in there when I need to pay my rent. The amenities seem comfortable to me. The modern looking gym is clean with a few machines and televisions. There is tanning that I haven't used yet. During the busy time like summers, you might want to call ahead for tanning. The computer room has two computers, and I have yet to figure out how I can get anything printed from their printer/fax machine. Unfortunately, the staff seemed more concerned with conversing than helping me out with this small matter at the time. I don't normally use their computers, but my internet was down at the time, so I chose to use theirs in their computer room. The pool and hot tub are alright. It's basic and just glad to know it's available. It gets crowded in the summer weekends. So I try to go during off-peak times. There are two small semi-enclosed playgrounds in the apartment complex, one outdoor basketball court, and one indoor basketball court (that's next to the gym and pool). Someone else mentioned that there is a gate issue. I agree that there should be two entry gates: one for those with remote entry and another for those without. A previous reviewer mentioned the small pantry...it is small, and so is the linen closet. I've learn to get a few vacuum-sealable bags to store some linens that I don't need for awhile. As for pantry storage, it keeps us from buying too much excess. Our appliances are in good condition, and we haven't had to make a maintenance call yet.
....We are now paying for a carport spot too. It's worth to know your spot will be there when you leave for a quick trip to the grocery store or movies on a weeknight. =) January 2008

We've live here for three years. There have been many neighbors that came and went. Things were fine. We were never late on our $1300 rent, which includes the garage and carport fee...until this month. There has been much going on lately and the rent payment completely slipped our minds. They last day before late payment is the 4th of each month. Today is the 5th. My husband came home to a note on the door that tells us they only want either money order or cashiers check from us, and that our late fee penalty is $100. Fine. I understand that we are late with our rent, and a monetary penalty accompanies the circumstance. However, the note also says that if management does not receive payment within three days, then we would be evicted. Seriously''' We've been here for three years, we are quiet people, we do not leave the trash out, we consistently pick up after our dog, I give my neighbors fair warning when they park in my carport spot to avoid calling the towing company without getting management involved, we don't have parties in our apartment, we don't invite 8 strangers to the community pool (which we barely use), I wipe down the machines and tanning bed after usage, etc, etc, etc. So we are pretty good tenants. And have I mentioned that this was the first time we were ever late on the rent' Did they really have to threaten us with eviction' No, I didn't think so either.

You should realize that when you don't pay your rent on time, that the state requires them to give you the 3 day notice. It isn't because they think you are a bad resident, the law just requires them to give it to cover their rears in case you don't pay. Most often we are ALL good residents and feel like we should be entitled to more, but in the end, we all signed the same lease and it says you have to pay those fees. To think that they gave it to you unfairly is just ridiculous. On the good side, it does mean you pay on time regularly and don't understand that this is the case. Good for you.
