The Management:
I moved to The Lodge at Peasley Canyon in 2007, and it has been a nightmare ever since. Dealing with the manager is a nightmare in its self. I have never met anyone so in love with themselves until I meet her. I have come in on several occasions where she passes everything on to her employees because she doesn t want to deal with it herself. Including dealing with pissed off residence. It is no secret that her employees can t stand her. If she likes you she won t raise your rent when you renew, she is the most unfair person I have ever meet and extremely unprofessional! Make sure that you don t have any spots on your carpet because she will charge you 2000.00 to replace it, even if it is a tiny spot. Make sure you take lots of pictures when you move out and if she still tries to screw you, report her to the Attorney Generals office, The Better Business Bureau, and take her to small claims court!
Parking:
A disaster!!!! There is never any parking. Even if you pay the $35.00 covered parking fee you will still have problems. I have had to park clear on the other side of the complex and walk in bad weather to my apartment because someone was parked in my spot. By the time the Tow truck comes 5hrs later, they moved and im still stuck walking all the way back to get my car. I have also come into the office twice where the staff has assigned the same covered lot to two separate residences. And one person s car got towed out of the spot they were paying for!!!! What s up with that' It just goes to show how unorganized they are. If you think you re safe to get a garage . Think again! I was at the pool speaking with another resident and she said that a few months ago she came home and went to park in her garage that she had been paying $100.00 a month on for a while, and there was another car parked in her garage with several boxes. One of the employees assigned her garage to a resident. Imagine that!
Construction:
The walls are pained with Flat paint and any hand print, scuff mark, or dirt shows up and your walls end up looking dirty. If you go to wipe them it takes the paint off. Everything is extremely cheap. Every door, blind, appliance, you name it. The maintenance man will always home to your house to make repairs, so you might want to get to know him . He will be your next best friend. You will find him at your house more than your friends and family!
The Cabana:
A disaster! The older night attendant is known as the knotsie amongst the other residents. When she works all the kids leave. You can t just take your kids to the pool and enjoy yourselves without her yelling for every stupid reason. She has been there forever and it just goes to show again how lazy the management is to not fire this lady because they don t want to deal with hiring someone new. I have come in a few times to work out and the bathrooms were dirty. One time someone pissed all over the toilet seats!
Security:
The kids around here run wild and their parents do not watch them! I have called security several times because some teenagers who I have seen at the cabana were behind my apartment getting high and being loud and roudy! I called security and they never did anything. One on the times I woke up and I could still smell the pot in my apartment from those punks because it was hot and I had my windows open. Don t leave anything in your car because they will vandalize it! This is not somewhere you want to move . Especially with children!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I after reading thhis post could not help but respond, not to get all childish with one persons veiw point. That being said, its sad to see one person who has had one or two situations throw such a tantrum. As a resisdent going on three yrs here can agree to some very common problems that if you checked into it occur at most apartment communities, parking, kids, quality of appliances ect. but in the end you are not buying a home here. And I am certain people have to wonder....did this person actualy rent a place site unseen? Because it sure sounds like it, because in my place I have the same carpet, paint, and appliance as in their model units. The managers job would be to delegate out situations to the staff. Finally as one finishes your note it clears up, you lack appreciation, the lady at night you choose to belittle is the one person after hours that has kept things in line..sorry you have a issue with rules...but again they are all posted read them then she can relax, you certainly dont like people by your home doing wrong but at the pool or in the gym even within the cabana no rules should apply. Anyhow hope the sting wears off soon sounds like your better off elsewhere, we too will be moving back to canada soon but have greatly enjoyed our home here at the lodge and will miss our neighbors and the staff that have become friends to us all.

Though not the most articulate of reviews, the author of the initial posting is really not too far off the mark. The property manager at this location is both unprofessional and highly unqualified. To say that she is more concerned with her personal appearance than her responsibilities is a gross understatement. It is common for property issues to go unresolved for weeks at a time (ie., the "security" gate that is broken far more often than not). When issues do escalate and require management assistance, phone calls are rarely returned. If contact with management is made, it is met with an adolescent defensiveness. In regards to the night cabana host, I agree that she is often unnecessarily curt. My encounters with her have been few, as I spend no time in the pool, cabana, or office areas, but the few times were certainly less than pleasant. There is a distinct difference between the bitter ramblings of a disgruntled tenant, and a clear, accurate expression of the situation. I can only assume that the previous respondent's final remark, "... friends to us all", referes solely to the members of their family. I laugh at the thought of them thiking they were in any way representative of the majority of tenants here; I have yet to meet a resident that would refer to management as friendly, let alone as friends.

I could not agree more with the author of this post as well. I think the only person to write something in disagreement would have to be someone from management who gets an email confirmation when there is anything written about the Lodge on this website. Yes you get crappy things when you are living in Apartments but when you are paying the amount you pay to live at the Lodge you expect a little more. I recommend the Belara(sp) in Lakeland Hills its beautiful a little cheaper and for apartment living you feel like your in luxuary compared to the Lodge. They have granite countertops even imagine that ha. I even had a previous girl that worked at the Lodge refer me there. She now lives and works there. That goes to show that the manager at the Lodge just doesnt really care about the property or people she is managing and that is sad. A friend of my sister in-laws just went to move into the Lodge only to have her whole Uhaul stolen you tell me where that is normal for apartment living you cant even unload your personal belongings without having to worry about it getting stolen. Not to mention the drug dealers in the complex as if they dont make it completly obvious what they are doing and it has been reported to the office numorous times. And kids smoking pot around the pool should be highly unacceptable as that is a place mostly for the kids even if it is after hours.Who knows what they could of left behind after a night of being stoned. And Rules should apply around the pool, cabana and gym areas as the Management explains above they are posted if they payed any attention to what they were writing. The pool closes at a certain time and no one should be allowed in there. Just makes you wonder what else they let people get away with. The older lady at night is very mean my son is very quiet and shy and he got yelled at one night for being on the computer for too long. And pizza night is a joke as all the employees come in and take as much as they like to friends and family as the guests get cut off after 2 slices. This place is a joke the property owner should be notified about how poorly the place is being run before its takin over by people who dont care and will destroy the somewhat new property. Also yes the paint sucks that was a big problem for me I have never had flat paint in any apartment I have ever lived in.They can afford to paint with something a little more suitable.I also agree that the maintenance man is one of the best people that works for that complex he is very on top of things. I would never refer this place to anyone and for people having issues do not re-sign your lease there are nicer places out there do not get discouraged!
