the pros and cons of living here

i moved into these apartments in 08/06 and i am still currently residing here...im tempted to break my lease and move elsewhere but i like the fact that they are affordable. i live in a 2bdrm townhouse and it is pretty affordable, under $830 a month. it feels like a lot of space to me becasue its just me and my boyfriend. i like the fact that i have my own covered parking and the washer and dryer in the unit. but there are several things that bother me. for one when i did the walk through i had to force them to replace my kitchen tile. they had old tile from the 70s and it looked worn and disguting. they were very hesistant about it because it cost about $800 to replace the tile for upscale tile that looks like what you would see in more modern homes. i hate the fact that there are no lights in any of the rooms, so i had to buy lamps for each room including the living room (which is quite small). i dont like the big glass window next to my front door. that can be very scary at night because people can look right in, even though the glass is bubbled so it distorts the image. when i moved in there were spiders everywere. i had a spider or two a day for about a month and a half and that is not an exageration. the walls are pretty thin, but i have never had a problem with my neighbors. i think the landscape looks nice. the management is getting better, but at times are very late to notice things or can be rude. i had a problem the first month i moved in. they somehow misplaced my deposit and first month rent check that i wrote to get my keys and when they did find it they sent it to the bank a month late, which totally messed up my finances and the messed up part is that they didnt notify me of this mess until late september (i moved in the first week of august). and the only way i found out was because i got an eviction notice on my door! i was extremly upset and the problem has since been solved, but this happened on 2 more occasions. i worked with Bob each time, he was more than willing to find a solution, but i was just peeved that they kept misplacing my money. so i have resorted to money orders at least that way it wont mess up my bank account. in closing i would say move here if you need a temporary living solution. the rent is affordable and for the most part the management stay out of your life until you need them. the neiborhood on the panther ridge side is nice. its close to schools, the mall, grocery stores and the library. but i would be careful and not stay too long. the place needs an interior makeover, its stuck in the 70s. so i would say move in at your own risk. for me i am currently looking for another place to live once my lease is over in Auguest.

Did you get the millipedes too? We had millipedes in our townhouse for about 6 weeks (I'd find 1-4 a day and our balcony was loaded with them!). They can't be fumigated out (resistant), so we pretty much just had to deal with them. I had nightmares about them! They got rid of Bob, the only one in the office who had a brain. I really have no clue who works there now, but they were kind enough to bring us a bill twice threatening eviction when we owed them 1 cent (they don't seem to remember the times when I have overpaid though...). Overall though, I actually like this place. I've lived here for almost 3 years, it is quiet, the places are pretty big, good prices. I am just not fond of the staff here and the bugs really creeped me out. Ironically though, I had more bugs when I lived in Kent, and that was year round. Very convenient location too.
