Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
I have lived at Pinewood aka "PineHOOD" Village for about a year. At first the complex was quite and everything seemed great. When winter ended and so did the serenity of the complex. A the temperature rising, so does the amount of ants that I find in my apartment. The ants have been found in my bathroon, bedroom, and now kitchen. This isn't an isolated problem either. Basically everyone in the complex has been or is dealing with ants. I have seen the ants coming through holes in the caulking around the tub and travel through the gaps in the wall outlets. The problem is so bad, the exterminate comes every other week to spray. Then there is the parking issue. At first each apartment was assigned a parking space until the owners realized the "value" of parking spaces. Now you have to pay between $25.00-$30.00 to park your vehicle where you reside. "As if paying for water, sewer and trash wasn't enough." If you feel this isn't a problem, let me tell you about the kids. A majority of the kids in this complex do not have respect for others, and other peoples property. Within the last few months, these kids have cracked a few cars winshelds from throwing rocks. The kids run around from sunset to sundown. It is as if the parents expect everyone, but themselves, to deal with their kids all day because they aren't. The kids will tell you to "f-off" and some will even taunt you. Since living here, I have had my vehicle keyed, and rocks stuck in my muffler tail-pipe. Management usually "shuts a blind eye" and doesn't reprimand the parents for their children's actions. So now I just call the police and have them sort it out with their parents. I do not recommend living here unless you have bad credit, or a drug-addict, or you are a lazy welfare mom that doesn't watch her 7 kids; because the management doesn't seem to care if they break things or mess with other people's property. Oh yeah, one more last thing. Yes, there is one more thing. Noise. I know at least 8 tenants in almost every building that is having problems with their next-door neighbor (even if upstairs/downstairs) making a lot of noise after 10 p.m. A lot of people here are younger adults and they don't care if their music's base is loud enough to rattle their neighbors walls. The walls in these apartments almost seem paper-thin. I suggest if you move here, get a top floor, perferable a top-floor far corner apartment--this way you mainly only have to worry about one neighbor. Happy apartment hunting.
