Woodtrail Village's leasing office have refused to give us back our deposit claiming my cat ruined the carpeting by urinating on it.(yeah right, just an excuse to get new carpeting). I went to the Better Business bureau to do mediation, and here's another prime example of just how cheap they are, they refused to pay for their 1/2 of the medication costs. I tried it to do it the nice way, but anyone that knows me very well, will tell you I can be your best friend or your worst enemy. I was going to join the rally, but I am going to Plan B to get our deposit back. Sometimes it is best, to hit people least where they suspect. My advice is to take lots of photos moving in and out....and by the way, both my attorney, and renter's insurance agent tell me that since Woodtrail Village conveniently removed the evidence (didn't allow for us to even get our insurance agent there, nor notify us before they did the work), since we challenged the information, and we both are handicapped, that the situation around the complex is going to get very ugly and they will have no one to blame but themselves. It could not happen to people who have deserved this kind of attention for a long time.
By the way, the Maintenance Supervisor did not have a license to perform the kinds of work he has been performing (none of the rest of the maintenance guys have licenses) until I turned his butt into the Dept of Licensing in July 2004. This means if he was working in your apartment doing any type of work that required a license, then your friends at Woodtrail Village Apartments Leasing Office lied to you about their professional staff...
If anyone has problems with getting their deposit back, there are so many wonderful governmental agencies willing to help, and they haven't been mentioned here...
Here's a question. Why are dogs allowed out to poop, etc., and cats are not' In addition, if the carpeting was stained prior to our moving in, in the same spots that one of the leasing agents ran to when we moved out, and we have this on our list why would this leasing office take advantage of two handicapped persons, blaming us for something that happened prior to our moving in' In addition, if there was not some kind of conspiracy against the renters at Woodtrail Village Apartments by the workers, you would think that at least one employee would be on the side of the renter. Why would someone remove the evidence of something they wanted a former renter to pay for' In addition, I have been taking to animal activists groups from all over the country, regarding the alleged urine on the carpets, and I will tell you if we don't get our deposit back this week, the u-know-what is going to hit the fan.
In addition, they have refused to give me a copy of the original invoice for the carpet that was installed. I know what carpeting company originally installed the carpeting,
and how sad is it when the leasing office cannot cough up that original invoice, and even the carpet cleaning people cannot tell if it was human urine, dog urine, or cat urine that was on the carpeting, and when it got there.
