I moved out in mid 2006, but I can see nothing has changed at The Heights. Just wanted to give everyone some move out tips, so they don't get slapped with huge cleaning bills, even though their apartment is clean. Take pictues of everything. Each room, the walls, the closets, the inside of the washer, dryer, refrigerator, stove, and fireplace. The floors, carpets, and the windowsills. Make sure that you take these pictures when The Height's staff is conducting your walk thru. That way they know you have proof that your apartment is clean and won't try to stick you with outrageous cleaning bills. I got this tip from our attorney, whom I had to contact many times while living at The Heights.
Also, If you have problems and cannot get anywhere with The Heights' staff try contacting the corporate office in California:
Nevins, Adams, Lewbell, & Schell
920 Garden Street
Santa Barbara, CA 93101
Phone: (805) 963-2884
Fax: (805) 963-9885
I went over the manager's head to the corporate office so many times, she should have foot prints on her head. They were much more helpful than anyone at The Heights. I have come to believe that the manager must know, and I mean KNOW someone to keep her job!
Below is my original review from April 2006:
Parking is horrbile!! 90% of the time I have to park six or seven buildings away from my apartment, because there are no spaces available. People are always double parked and/or parked in the fire lanes. If you call the management staff to report the offenders, you are told to call the Federal Way Police.
The management staff is horrible as well. They always have an excuse when tenants have a complaint or an issue. The manager, Debbie, is never available, even when she is in.
The clubhouse(s) are never available, Well, not for working people, since they are mostly open only during working hours. Since living here the lower cabana has been shut down for so called repairs/maintenance for nearly twelve months.

I agree 100%. I have tried to report those who think they are above the law who park in the fire lanes and in handicap parkins spaces, but do the office girls do anything NOOO! They just say oh okay and then do nothing. My family is constantly parking completely away from our building(no properly lit)and having to walk a good distance. The lower level pool always has kids by themselves, no supervision, and they wonder why it is vandalised all the time. They have cameras in there but never use them. Pools are supposed to be heated-yah right-when? I hate this place. NEVER move in here!

Never move here. They are crooks. Brazen, sloppy, scummy, lazy, low IQ crooks. And the corporate office stinks too. Yes, the manager must KNOW (as in get down and get naked) to have kept her job. No corporation I have ever worked for was this scummy or would tolerate having to do the managers job for her. I have never seen the level of incompetence that I have seen here. It is shameful and disgusting and a reflection of the corporate office. See a lawyer for free. They are there for you at the 1st Avenue library in Fed Way. This is the kind of thing they love to do--help people like you and bust scummy crooks like this place and its corporate office. |

What awful managers. The Federal Way police have many, MANY more important calls than come deal with the administrative issues that The Heights should be handling. I live in a wonderful community in Auburn and our staff handles this appropriately. It angers me that THe Heights management suggests you call the cops - WASTING our money and the safety of people that need real help from the police.
