It's Going Downhill

I've been here almost 2 years now. When I moved in, the place was quiet and calm. Since the new company bought the place around September of 2005, it's like living in a construction zone. I realize it's good to do upkeep on a place - but the management simply says "We're coming in to do this or that" and you don't have any choice. Now it's ugly, and noisy, and you don't have the use of things you used to, like the spa, which is broken and has been for a while, and doesn't look like it will be fixed any time soon. The management hired some contracting firm to work on the decks, and that's been going on for at least a month now, with no end in sight; likewise, roofing has been going on since DECEMBER!!! It's not a bad place as a whole, but if I were looking at it right now, I'd wait 6 months before moving into it. I suspect that when my lease comes up for renewal, despite the inconveniences, that my rent will be raised again, which really sucks. The on-site manager never returns phone calls, which is also a pain. The fitness center is closed except when the office is open, so anybody who works during the day doesn't have ANY chance to use it. The "gourmet island" in the kitchen has no plugs, so it's just about useless. The carpet was full of flea eggs when I moved in (my pets had no fleas prior to moving here), so if you move in, be sure to spray it with an egg-killing spray BEFORE you bring your pets here (I didn't know until after the fact, and ended up with a couple hundred dollars in vet bills). The street in front of the apartments is incredibly busy, making it difficult to get out even turning to the right - making a left turn is just about hopeleess. I don't know about the other apartments, but there's no mantle over my fireplace, and no ceiling fan, although online ads say those are present. All in all, it's not terrible, but it sure is a confused place right now - I say find something else. 3mPoZ6gGN6wTPgNi4L2C
