When my fiance and I first moved into Chopaka apartments the managment team was ok. This was in 2001, when Shannon was the manager here. Then Shannon left and was replaced with Joyce and Kathy. These two were wonder individuals who where honesty concerned about the residents and keeping the community in nice good running condition. They even would organize picnics for the residents, and other things such as community garage sales, halloween parties for the kids, forth of July parties ect.... I loved it here. I didnt think I would ever want to leave. Then everything was destroyed. Joyce and Kathy were both let go, and the apartments were falling apart. There is garbage and dog poop all over the place, you constantly need to look where you are going. The new manager has decided to raise the rent to new people wanting to move in from $800.00 for a 1 bedroom (yes I did say a 1 bedroom)to $950.00. I oculdn't beleive it when I found this out. The way things are going now she would be lucky to beable to rent it for $650.00. She is mean to the children and people are moving out of here faster than you can say GETTO!!! I my self have finally left this place and can't be happier to get away from that rat hole the new managment has turned that place into. If I were looking to move now my advice for anyone even considering this place would be to run screaming in the opposite direction as fast as humanly possible.
