i am a longtime resident of chopaka and recently recommended it to a friend, who used this site before talking to me. it was because of that i became aware of recent reviews that unjustly portrayed current management. it sounded as if somebody had a grudge and was using this site to vent. i would like to set the record straight. since a management change last march there has been steady progress as far as improvements to the cabana, pool, weight room and the entire grounds. improvemnts still need to be made, however current upgrades are encouraging.
there are other longtime residents here as well that during prior management periods were given small jobs such as locking the cabana at night, pool patrol, etc.. to make a long story short, a certain few, joyce boyd in particular, became a bit overindulgent in carrying out these duties to the point where she was exagerating her worth. when current management relieved her of these duties she became vindictive and submitted false reports. it was in fact joyce's dogs that left feces in the cabana, ( i personaly witnesed her taking her dogs in there after a super bowl party, then locking up), bullies other residents at the pool, generally overstepping her bounds. i for one was glad to this busybody tamed and have the responsibilty of running this place back in the hands of professionals.
current manager tina and her new maintenence man, peter, are making a positive and welcome impact at chopaka.

First of all, Joyce Boyd dosen't own dogs, second, you are a vindictive lier, I was with Joyce on super bowl Sunday, and after the game I was the one who locked up the cabana that night. Her husband just died, after she's spent the last few years takeing care of him, and I can assure you, bulling others and overstepping her bounds have never been things she has had time for. You say others have used this site to vent, you clearly have used it for a personal attack on one of the sweetest people I've ever known. You lying sack of sh**!!!!

Hey hey hey!!!! Who said that Joyce (whoever that is) is a nice lady? Just because she took care of her husband doesn't mean she's nice....I think.
