Mold anyone...

I lived at Chopaka in a one bedroom apartment on the top section for 2 years and 9 months. At first things were great, then the new management took over. Nothing ever got fixed, and if they tried it was a temporary fix that lasted a few months. The SPA was never working when I was there, and isn't that part of what my rent went to'' I had people park in my spot. My neighbors were loud all the time and all hours of the night. I have a dog that I clean up after, is it so much to ask others to do the same'
The reason I left: I was moving stuff around in the bedroom closet and I found tons of mold. I called management right away (Friday night) and was told no one could get there until Monday at the earliest because they don't get overtime pay. What is that' This is a major health violation to not start to correct the problem within 48 hrs. So I called a lawyer and was getting information on my rights. Apparently someone overheard me and told Tina, so they came on Sunday night (just before the 48hr mark) and asked to see it. No call just showed up on my doorstep. Then once I showed them the mold, they tried telling me it was my fault for properly cleaning. This is not a bathroom where you expect water, this is a bedroom closet. So they started ripping up the carpet and the walls to find the problem. The problem was a broken water pipe under my closet. Did they properly fix it' No, all they did was put up new drywall and put a new patch of carpet in. So it will come back. To make matters worse Tina told me she wouldn't renew my lease because my 10 lbs dog was too big and I didn't pick up after her on the grounds. For one I didn't want to renew, and for two when I asked her to show me proof that I didn't pick up after my dog. She walked me on the trail and pointed to a pile of dog mess that was bigger than my dogs head and said "See that isn't picked up, you need to pick up after your dog. Not to is violation of your lease." I prededed to tell her that there is no way my dog could make a dog mess almost 1/2 her size and weight. This was ridiculous. I am so glad to be out of there.

Not sure why this person is referencing Tina, as she's been gone as manager for something like six months now - maybe longer?? Sounds to me like somebody has an axe to grind, and isn't smart enough to check to see if things are still the same.

It's very true Tina has been gone a while now. She was a manager when I first moved in and everything was great but the new managment is definetly worse than I could have ever imagined having to deal with.
