VERY happy at Park Hill

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2003
We have found Park Hill to be a great place for our family. There are many other children around to play with my 3 and 7 year olds, a nice playground on the grounds and a true feeling of community.
We lived in a complex in Redmond for 3 years before and in those three years I can count the number of times we used the "community" facilities on one hand. Also, the neighbors were very stand-offish. Park Hill is a very friendly complex and the pool is "the" place to be in the summer time.
The grounds are well kept and over the summer, all of the buildings were cleaned and the trim repainted. Interiors are beautiful and if you ask, maintainence will paint an "accent color" in your living room and/or bedroom before you move in. If you don't like the colors they have to offer, you can even go get your own paint and they will paint it for you.
The apartments are spacious and very energy efficient. We moved in last February and never once turned on the heat. The master bedroom suite in our 3-bedroom is enormous with a walkin closet, dual sinks in the bathroom and a separate shower/stool area.
We have NEVER had a problem with the office or maintainence staff. Jennifer and Vicky in the office are great and easy to work with. Joe and his maintainance staff also do a fantastic job. Everyone has been very responsive to any problems or requests.
The drawbacks are few, but in fairness I will list them:
- yes, parking is a problem. There are very few visitor spots and they are all near the clubhouse so if you don't live near the clubhouse, visitors have to walk a bit of a distance.
- no, the gate does not always work, but overall the complex has a feeling of safety.
- some residents have complained about the lumberyard. We live a little way up the hill so I guess we don't notice it, but if you live near the lumberyard, trucks start moving in and out at about 5:30am.
- over the summer, the landscapers are in about 3 or 4 days a week and they are usually at work by 7:00am with the mowers and weed-eaters.
- there's no air conditioning so if you have western exposure or are on a top floor (we have both) the heat gets to be a bit much in the summer. But as I said before, the pool is great to get away from the heat.
- if you don't get a garage, the storage is pretty limited within the apartment.
