Summerwalk looks good on the surface, but it's rather run-of-the-mill.

Grounds look decent but don't expect the maintenance to pick up garbage. While pet-potty areas are marked and bags are supplied, no effort is made to clean up after those who do not pick up after their pets.

Complex manager doesn't care about the residents. Got a problem' Too bad. Actually had to go over her head to get issues dealt with. (They were satisfactorily solved.)

Average quality buildings. Typical lighting fixtures, plumbing, cabinets, etc., for a corporate run apartment company.

Absolutely horrible phone service here. Can't stress this enough. Gemtel (the phone company you WILL be using) is the bottom of the barrel. I won't go into particulars but if they can do something to make your life difficult, count on it happening. Does not allow standard DSL providers in the complex. Has only some mickey-mouse ISP outfit in here. Plan on cable internet (with its own set of problems).

Maintenance will be making multiple trips to get things right unless the maintenance manager does the work himself. They hire chimps to do much of the labor. Many can't tie their own shoes. (But this is typical of many companies.)

Layout of apartment is really nice. Picked this apartment b/c it was unique, not just a standard, boring design.

Neighborhood is wonderful. Many walking trails, parks, small lake.

TRAFFIC in this area is a NIGHTMARE! If there is one thing that should deter you from living in Summerwalk, it is the effort needed to get to and from the interstate. Until the new exit (#18) is finished, count on traffic causing lesser drivers to ponder suicide or homicide.
