I have been living there since 2000 and have had no real large complaints that would not pertain to any other apartments in the area.


The rates are typical, you get decent square footage for the price. the apartments are older so the applicance are old to match.The maintenace folks do a very good job and responsivel to any faults found.


The grounds are well kept, every Thursday the grounds crew do their thing...many have mentioned..they wake you up...yes IF you are asleep on Thursday morning..they have to do it sometime!


The management have always been decent with me in my dealings, the staff has changed quite often so much so that even I do not know who is there any more...but that does not make them bad, just new on the job.





Parking..typical for the area, one spot for each apartment, if you have a second car..good luck..I DO have an extra space if I use my extra garage ($100) cause I have 2 cars. Some folks complained about being towed...I would love to be able to tow folks that take MY spot, I leave a note..ONCE and then tow the second time.


Gemtel'' or Summerwalk Communications' i have not paid for there services in quite a while, I still have a dial tone and service (with quest) do not use them.





Kids in the area' Yes but has never been a problem...I am on the office side of Summerwalk...depends who your neigjbors are as well! We have seen so many people come and go and each time there were initial noise problems...which were resolved when asking them to be considerate.(liek any apartment complex)





Crime: I get notes on my door when there is something going on...I am not sure of the home owners get a notice about the crime..I would prefer to know about it than be kept in the dark.





All in all I would look for a different place (they repainted exteriors in 2003..doors to be repainted 2004 (when its warmer), the roofs got damaged in the big wind storm so I expect a lot of work to be going on when it gets warmer out.


interiors need paint, new carpets needed, appliance upgrades needed) If this is OK with you, this is the place for you to rent..if not move on.


Before you move in find out who is also in your building..kids etc..they are going to be your room mates!

You can always tell where your upstairs neighbors are going by following their footsteps, voices are not heard except in the bathroom area...people that complained about noise' I have only heard my neighbors when their windows were open..as were mine, otherwise I cannot hear my neighbors.
