I always read this board for what ever community I'm living at, and I think most people check this place before they even set up a visit. I've read all the reviews in the last few months and I have to say some of them are unfair. Not only have I lived here for over 9 months, but I also happen to have worked a fair amount of time in the property management industry, both on the on site level and as a trainer for on site personnel, and I would like to clear up some misconceptions of current.

The Timbers IS an excellent place to live. Is it perfect''' No. But I promise you, from years of experience, no place that you live will be an ideal dream. The Timbers, however, will give you very few problems, very few hassles, and very little to complain about.

The office staff has a great rapport with their residents. They remember the little details about your life that make you feel like you matter, and I have never once gotten the feeling that I was "a rent check" to them. Are there bad days' Sure. But I've only seen one in the 9 months I've lived here, and that's a pretty decent ratio in my book. The mention of bookkeeping errors is something I find hilarious because Glenda does a better job keeping the books spotlessly clean than many ACCOUNTANTS that I know. I've never had an error on my account, and anytime I had a question, she always could walk me right through it and show me where the discrepancies lay. I would and DO trust Glenda with my account any day of the week and twice on Sunday. The bonus of working with Glenda is that not only is she amazing with numbers, but she can also be amazing with people, which is not often a combination that you'll find. She's one of the many gems that makes the Timbers really sparkle.

Lauren and Rachel. You will NOT find a more dedicated pair of leasing agents. They do not act like they are there for their commission checks. They follow up with residents, they remember things about you including your NAME, and they always strive to take that extra step that makes their customer service truly spectacular above the rest. Do things fall through the cracks' In EVERY ORGANIZATION things fall through the cracks. In my experience with the Timbers, it has happened to me only once, and they stepped up and immediately remedied the situation. These women are dedicated to the needs of their residents and will do everything they can to make it right for everyone involved. Even on a bad day in the office, smiles never leave their faces. That takes talent, and it's the hallmark of a truly great service agent.

A few posts back, the manager Elizabeth was attacked. Let's look at some facts here. Number one, the manager has so much to do on a property, that NO, she cannot tend to every small need of the residents. That is why she has very competent leasing agents to take care of her residents. In every instance that I have had a problem that needed Elizabeth's involvement, she has been personable and honest and helpful with me. I never found her to be deceitful or rude. I cannot speak for other people, but what I know of her is that she is doing her best to make a 337 unit property run exceptionally smoothly, and that is no easy task. Elizabeth is definitely competent for the job. Is she perfect right now''' No one is. All of us are always learning. If we stop learning, then we stop growing as people. Elizabeth is no different. She's still growing as a manager, growing her leadership, and, coming from someone who has seen MANY managers come and go in property management, she is only a short step from being a truly amazing leader for that team. She brings some wonderful and much needed skills to the team at the Timbers, and she is an incredibly valuable member. Don't judge her based on someone's angry rant. Talk with her yourself and make the call.

I have to agree that the maintenance team is pretty much the best that I've ever had. I do miss Jason and Cameron. They were personable and wonderful to work with. But Joe is just great and I have heard wonderful things about the new supervisor that they just hired. I don't have to wait too long for items in my home to be fixed, and I have NEVER had pause to worry about one of their staff members in my home unsupervised. I feel incredibly safe with the staff.

If you live at the Timbers, you will probably be very happy with your choice. I've not faced a rent hike yet, but quite frankly, I will probably stay even if there is one. I enjoy their service, and I LOVE my home there. It's the perfect size for our family and we don't have any of the problems that I've faced at other communities, such as rude staff and a maintenance team I wouldn't trust in my home, or the crime rate of other places. The grounds always look incredible and the amenities are pretty darned great. I say live here. I do not regret my choice.

Finally, a voice of reason. I agree totally (NAYY, just a long-time resident).

This sounds like a management post. "...the manager has so much to do on a property, that NO, she cannot tend to every small need of the residents" The manager has a legal responsibility to tend to the needs of the residents, not just to take the money. See RCW 59.18.060. The manager has the duty to address tenant issues within a reasonable time.

It's not a management post. I happen to work in the property management industry and have very high standards about where I live and who I choose to rent with. I've renewed here and will continue to do so unless something changes. And I didn't say that it wasn't the manager's job to address tenant issues. I said that is WHY we have leasing consultants. They take some of these issues off the manager's plate so that they don't have to deal with every tiny problem or scuffle that comes along. They help the manager in her "Duty."

I love this review! I am a new tenant and cant wait to live at the timbers. I am going to be positive and do my part to keep it a nice place to live, every one is responsible to do there part too, the once that don't give a crap are better of to live on there own! go rent a house where you have no neighbors, no kids around and no noise. (to the people that are angry) I think every one would be happier! ....The Timbers here I come :-)
