"The Timbers- Dwell in Satisfaction"
The floors in the buildings are not level and creak under anything more than 20 lbs. I have lived in 100 year old houses that creaked and squeaked less (despite one of them being taken apart in two pieces and moved 10 miles.)
Everything is the cheapest money can buy, so despite everything being 3-5 years old things still don't work right. The walls and ceilings have cracks (but you won't notice until a week after you move in because they paint every time, with water based paint...yes it wipes off the walls easier than a white board), the fireplaces never work right, but after 10 attempts and no one able to get it to work right you just deal cause you know you will be out soon(look around and count of the flumes that have caught fire), if you use the microwave more than 5 minutes at a time it stops working, the drawers stick, and because the cabinets make IKEA cabinets look like expensive stuff, they are impossible to fix without rebuilding, so another thing you just try to ignore while you count down the days till you move out.
Moisture in the kitchen (from boiling water) causes the laminate to peel off the cabinet facing.
They use a company for window screens but that company doesn't carry the right size window screens, so after numerous failed attempts you just give up.
For every 800-1000 square feet that you vacuum you get a vacuum bag full of loose carpet fibers (when vacuuming weekly.)
When you come to check out the place, they show you a beautiful apartment. When you get your keys and do the walk through you notice things weren't cleaned properly and known problems were never resolved (after talking to maintenance staff.) Wall patch jobs look like they were done by a 10 year old. You quickly learn they the don't touch the apartments until a week before someone moves in and they do a mad dash to patch, paint and clean.
For the longest time there were dangerously loose rails, extremely sharp rails, where pieces had been cut off but not sanded down, and exposed unwrapped wires on the toddler playground. They fixed one of the loose rails, but I am not sure about the other items.
When you move in the staff is so nice and everyone is sweet. After a few months and weekly calls to the office to get things in good working order they start to become rude, then before you know it they are lying to you, and getting each others backs to cover their mistakes, and being fake. The "new" manager's demeanor is that of a 17 year old girl, though she is probably closer to 30.
The maintenance guys are nice and genuine, but they are dealing with cheap buildings and cheaper materials, and are over loaded because of it. I don't know if it is because they are over loaded or it is another cause, but maintenance is not their calling (to put it nicely.)
What I do like: We have a nice club house, a swimming pool, small work out area, small toddler playground, close to a shopping center. They rent out townhouses, but they are in no better or worse shape than the standard apartments. The units when built met all safety requirements and have a sprinkler system. Your neighbors leave their internet open. My neighbors are very nice and try to be considerate
You will also enjoy the soothing sound of a flushing toilet while relaxing in your living room and dwell in the satisfaction that your neighbor just took another ----.
(This must have been what they were talking about when they came up with "Dwell in Satisfaction.")

Actually, I live in the P building. And for your information, I do not work for the apartment complex. No home is perfect, dude. I understood that when I moved in. I don't know what's so hard about that for you. Get over yourself.

You know there are rules to this site. If you work for the apartment you are not allowed to pretend to be a tenant. Why else would you so quick to post such a long defensive reply within an hour of my original posting??
It is funny when you say these problems don't exist when the maintenance openly admits they are common problems. All of my apartments problems where there when I moved in so perhaps you have that one "perfect" townhouse. Funny thing is if you actually live in the unit you say you do and have visited the play ground and/or checked out the hand rail at the very west end of your building you would know exactly what I am talking about.

to new viewers, it is my conclusion that miakasakura and artchickhb have more than a tenants view of the timbers and are likely the manager or friends of the manager. the opinions are too biased to be natural. but keep in mind that in spite of these boosts, the timbers still has a very favorable review from obviously legitimate tenants and does not seem to have the issues many other apartments have. so the most serious concern seems to be if you wish to have a deceitful manager or one who condones it instead of laying bear the truth behind these uncommonly biased posts.
