Not bad, but not great either...

Windsong is a decent place to live if you need a place to live while moving into the area or making a transition but I wouldn't recommend it for more than a year though. It is close to downtown Issaquah (5 minute walk) and has bus stops nearby which is very nice as the downtown area has many great resturants (Mandarin Garden is YUMMY!) and other fun things to do like plays at the Village. The location of Windsong on Front Street isn't a good thing as traffic is horrific as many people use it to get from HWY 18 to I-90 in the AM and the reverse in the PM. Expect it to take 20 minutes just to get from Windsong to I-90 in am/pm traffic, while in "good" traffic it only takes 3-4 minutes.
As for the complex itself, it looks nice enough from the outside but inside the apartments are worn and not taken care of very well. Don't expect new carpet and/or freshly painted walls when you move in. You might also have to ask to make sure your carpets even get cleaned before you move in. You should also expect to hear every step your neighbors above and/or below take as the buildings were not built very well. As with many apartments it isn't well insulated at all (the windows are really bad) so be prepared for huge heating costs (electric) in the winter and in the summer get an air conditioner or you'll fry. The living/dining area is of adequate size and the kitchen is also, but the bathroom is REALLY small as is the bedroom.
The complex is "dog friendly" so expect to hear barking dogs quite often, which is annoying and management does little about it.
As for safety Issaquah is a mostly safe town but Windsong does get car prowls (as does the whole area) and lighting is horrible at night as many lights are burnt out or don't function.
The Manager, Heather, is a friendly lady to deal with, but she does have a bit of a "Queen of the Complex" attitude. For maintenance requests you have to keep after her or things will not get done at all, and when they do get done usually need to be redone as the maintenance guy isn't the best. There is a exercise room in the clubhouse that can be used 24/7 which is nice. Your neighbors will probably keep to themselves and not be overly friendly, and expect loud stereos on the weekend nights.
Overall, if you are looking for a place to stay short term in Issaquah look into this place, but also look around at the other complexes in the Issaquah area as there are better options.
