Brace yourselves, this is going to be long, but it will be well worth it if you were considering renting from Asteria Place in Kenmore WA. My boyfriend and I moved in to our apartment 7 1/2 months ago, and before we moved in, we had to give 20 days notice in our previous spot. The manager was ok with that, because the unit was not yet rentable. But she promised that we would have a washer/dryer in our unit, and would throw in mirrored closet doors just for kicks. Well moving day arrives, and we still do not have our washer and dryer. No biggie...But she said we would have it soon. Along with not having the w/d we still had two gigantic holes in our ceilings where the electrician needed to get to check the wiring before we had them installed. Mind you, we moved in, in the middle of February. We get a letter at the beginning of March requiring that during a period of TEN days we needed to be able to allow them to enter between 9-5 on any of those days. On the last day, we still had NO w/d. And then a week later got another letter stating the same ten day thing. They finally got our w/d installed, but the FOUR men that were in our apartment moved everything around, and didn't have the courtesy to move anything back. And when they patched up the holes, and sprayed that popcorn style ceiling over the spackle, it left a thick layer of dust on every SINGLE thing in our apartment that was not in a drawer or cupboard. We also had an incident two days after we moved in, late at night, the sink in the kitchen backed up and flooded our dining room area. Using all of our towels to clean up as much of the mess as possible (we still did not have a washer and dryer at the time) and the management did not pay for our laundry to be done. But what they did do, is bring in a carpet extractor, and two huge industrial size fans to run for 48 hours straight off of our electricity (that we pay, its not included in our rent) and when we finally were able to turn them off, they didn't decide to come and pick them up until a week later. NOW, the same situation with the flooded dining room has happened again. But this time it has ruined some of my business supplies and they are refusing to reimburse me for replacing these items. They also are refusing to compensate us for inconvience stating, "you have inconvienences on a daily basis in life, how are we supposed to compensate you for only four days of inconvienence'" Ummmm, hello! We pay them to rent every square inch of that apartment, which almost half is unusable at this point since we have had to move our dining room table into the living room so they can put their machines in the dining room. Other than this, there has been instances where we're barbequing on our back porch, and we see people throw trash off their balcony. Or food. We are CONSTANTYLY coming home to people parked in our spot (that is part of our rent) There is also, constant parties until up to 4 am. There was one instance where my PERSONAL information was given out to the general public. Can we say ILLEGAL'''' I have voiced all my concerns with the management and it doesn't seem to matter. However, if I was even a day late on my rent, I am sure they would be on my as* very quickly. I STRONGLY encourage anyone who was considering living at these apartments to change their mind and live somewhere else where paying more would make it worth it.
