I would stay away, the apartments are old and outdated. The apartments are moldy with. Management doesn't do anything about the garbage all over Residents throught garbage on the grounds. Alot of old non running vehicles on the premise. Residents are told not to do car work on the premises and management doesn't do anything about it. The prices keep gong up and they compare these apartments to other apartments. the difference is other apartments have pools, washer and driers in the units. Benson Village does not have any ammenities to offer. The are not comparing apples to apples for the amount of Rent they charge.

And this is exactly why I'm leaving. They increased my rent $95 dollars to $735. I had only a week to move up from Oregon and took the first place that took me in. This place was far from what I was accustomed. The counters were that old puke pumpkin color with a ton of knife cuts in it. The range and fan cover were the same in color looking like items from the late 60's early 70's. The batheroom had that yellor marbled looking formica with a metal bar for support that kept electricuting me each time I took a shower and took months for them to do something about. It took forever for them to swap out my dish washer which items came out dirtier then when going in. The stove eventually started overheating on top and started making humming noises thinking it was going to explode, I requested they change it. They did replace it with the most basid of all stoves and left the over head unit the same. SMH It was run down, dirty and I've never heard of anyone leaving mis-matched pieces like this. Eventually after more complaining about that, they swithed that part out too. In the bathroom, they had to take that bar out causing electrocution, but in order to repair the holes in the surround, they had to replace that. OMG..the surround was made of cut out pieces and the person who did it, was not careful to make straight cuts. It looked like a job I could do better. The glue went from clear the yellow in no time. Let me not forget the mention the old bathtub which Im sure was original with the apartment. It was worn out to grey the entire bottom of the tub. I asked if they would replace it and they flat out said NO. When do you replace a tub? They could at least call for that sprayed on stuff to cover the ugliness. So they put up a new sorround with a worn out tub. If it's supposedly not broken, they won't fix it..but things wear out. Get this..they use that wood grain sticky paper to cover the cupboards in the bathroom. That immediately wrinkles up and doesn't stick because it's been put on partical board. Air gets underneath, so you can't possibly expect the paper to stick. It looks very trashy, and I keep my place nice with nice things. In 3.5 years, I can't really say one good thing about the management, however the maintenance guy is fantastic. I have a FICO score of 809 and when I moved in 3.5 years abo, they charged me a full $600 security/move in deposit which they said this fee was based on credit report. I wonder if they will do their best to swindle me out of all that. I have not added 1 stain to the carpet in 3.5 years..I've covered up any nail holes in the walls. The normal wear and tear and their resposibility to repair the counters in the kitchen, the ancient flooring in both the bathroom and kitchen, and other things that have just plain wore out over the years is their responsibility and in no way should be put on me. I've been the most responsible of renters yet I've had to put up a fight for every thing. I've had to take pictures of the carpet, walls, counters just to cover my tail. I want at least $400 dollars back from my deposit for all the BS that I've had to endure. NOISY A$$ kid running around wild, so the parents don't care what trouble their children are getting into. The noise level of car stereos blasting when they drive by with the selfish drivers not caring about anyone else but themselves and all I get from the management about noise by another unit is to either go to them direct or call the police. The number 1 thing as a tennant in landlord tennant laws is to make management aware of the problem first that way if things get out of hand, it was notated that management was made aware. It's alway best to get things in writing as well to cover yourself such as time, date, who, where etc. I'm leaving for what may or may not be a better situation. No place is perfect, not even if you own your own home. You don't know your neighbors, but you find out after you've moved in. GOOD LUCK TO US ALL
