Gun shots 08/10/2007

There were gunshots outside the G building on 08/10/2007. This was my birthday and I had family over who hid behind my couch with my wife and I. We heard a huge fight erupt outside, two women screaming at each other. It then calmed down a bit, we heard three gunshots, and about 20 seconds later a car screeched out of the parking lot. There is a police report on this issue if anyone wants to question this review. The management said they fixed things but I wasn't going to take a risk of getting shot and moved.
I you want the risk of being shot towards, move here. We clearly were not the targets but accidents DO happen. I know it CAN happen anywhere, but it DID happen here.
Other than that and the lack of fire control system which was specifically mentioned in our lease agreement, the place was adequate.
The staff was always friendly and meant well. New staff came about 2 months before we left, and I don't have much, if any, experience with them.
They have since removed the convenient garbage sites and now you have to go a long way to take garbage out.
Finally, good luck finding parking close to your apartment anytime after about 5:30pm if you are in the bottom half of the complex.

How do you know the difference between a gun shot, a larg fire cracker, or a car backfiring? are you a trained expert in gunshot sound identification? and yes I woud like to read the police report, can you please provide it?

Way to go, If you read some of the smart ass people who always reply, this seattles always has something stupid to say. Its obvious that they need a life or maybe a job to keep them busy. I am glad that you got away safely. I think that everybody who got kicked out of Jonathan's Landing moved to Berkeley Heights where they could continue selling drugs and breaking into cars. The parking sucks because all of the kids drive there and play basketball even though they don't live there. So sad.

If you can't tell the difference between a gun shot and a firecracker or car backfire you aren't listening very hard. Now I can't tell you the caliber of the bullet fired, but it certainly was gunfire. Waddle down to the City of Kent. They would be happy to provide said police report. I would recommend that anyone looking into moving here get that report before they move. Are you a trained expert in skepticism? Why were their 4 police cars in front of my apartment responding to shots fired? Why did the police, all of my neighbors, the people that were involved in the incident, and the member of management who walked down to see what was happening all agree that it was gunfire? (according to police report.) Yet you, who wasn't around and aren't even part of the issue disagreeing? Why don't you stick with things you have SOME knowledge of. Let someone who was around the incident respond. In response to trudystone1: I don't believe Berkeley Heights is all bad. I never had a problem with my car being broken into or did I ever see any suspected drug dealing. The gunshots were the worst, but there were a few other fights in front of our building. Management was actually very nice and quite quick to fix broken things in our apartment. The only issue I had with them was enforcing parking rules. We had a carport we paid for monthly that people habitually parked in. It was the same car many times (and a few other cars once or twice), we called and complained to management with descriptions and license plate numbers, and I was told many times they would take care of the problem. Not once did I ever see a car towed for parking improperly. I never even saw a warning note on any car parked in my spot. Is the blue caprice still in the parking near the G building that someone moves around after they get a warning sticker every couple of weeks?
