Before I even moved into my cheap studio I was rushed through my "inspection/walk through." (you know, check condition of apartment before move in). Why was I rushed' The girl had to go to lunch.
When I moved in (December)the carpet was still wet from their "late carpet cleaning." They had the heat cranked up all the way to attempt to cover it up. It Took me forever to dry to the place out.
Maintenance crew came in without permission two different times. I changed my locks (even though it was not allowed)
Maintenance attempted to enter apartment while my girlfriend and I were having sex. They of course were unable to enter. Flagged them down and confronted them about entering my apartment without my permission they then accused me of violating my lease agreement. I was forced to change my locks back or be evicted.
My car was broken into on a sunny summer day, and window broken, stereo was stolen.
Stolen cars were ditched in the parking lot on a regular basis. (confirmed by police)
During the rainy seasons there was standing water feet away from my front door; it even covered sidewalk at times making it difficult to walk home, neighbors named the standing water "lake avante" (Centerstone = Avante Apartment homes).
Management was rude and unhelpful.
Parking lot was also a lake. They repaved, but they seemed to just make it worse.
I was sexually assaulted by a large black woman while walking from my car to apartment. (I am male)
My girl friends panties were stolen from laundry room while still drying.
There was a considerable amount of dog poop, garbage, and cig butts on apartment grounds. (grass areas, and sidewalks)
Only good thing about Centerstone/Avente Apartments is my rent was cheap. And, it's sort of cool a new mall opened blocks away.

I don't work at this property, but just some things that people should be aware of. Stolen cars get ditched in apartment communities ALL the time. It dosnt matter where its located or how much the rents are. Its an easy hiding place. Second. Anywhere you go there is going to be issues. It is per a standard lease agreement that the office have a copy of your key for an emergency. If you changed the lock its a violation. If you didnt feel comforatble, request that all maintenance requests be made in writing. There are ways to go about everything, and it dosnt seem like you made the best decisions. |
