Indigo Springs: Run By Crooks

I went into the office to complain about my bill for utilities, which was consistently 2-3 times more than normal. The manager saw that it was clearly incorrect and corrected it, but gave no explanation.

I didn't have any more issues until I gave my notice to vacate. Then next month, they hit me with a bill that was higher than ever - almost 80 dollars for water. I had no leaks, no increase in water usage - nothing. They said they would look into it, but failed to do so. My normal bill was 50 bucks.

Another time, previously, a lady from the office called me and told me I owed 120 bucks, but failed to explain what it was for, considering that I had paid my rent and all utilities in full, and had been living there for months. I told her to send me an invoice detailing what it was for, but I never received it.

This is the sort of thing that makes me think they are either incompetent or crooks. Since they never charged me short, it doesn't seem like total incompetence.

Another issue I had is that I switched from a 2 bedroom to a 1 bedroom so my old room mate could move in with his girlfriend, and I would finish out the lease. They really stuck it to me, having me pay 800 per month for a 1 bed, when the apartment was only worth maybe 6-650.

As far as the facility is concerned, the grounds are fairly neat. You'll find kids in the parking lot often, even though a park is next door. Maintainence won't come in an emergency, such as water intrusion. I had water intrusion for 3 days for a very simple fix, right as I was moving, and maintainence did not show up even though I had alerted them and the management several times.

The one good thing I have to say about them is that their area manager in the corporate office is definitely someone I'd want to deal with. I wrote the corporate office a letter asking for waiving of a full month's rent (900 dollars) because I was 1 day late with my notice to vacate. The local management didn't even consider my request at all.

So to sum it up, if you want to deal with nonsense, and made up bills where you live - boy have you looked in the right place! Seriously, don't touch this place in any way. Just look at all the negative reviews on here. 1/2 of the people who lived there regretted it! I've lived in 7 different apartments around the valley, and this was the only one I didn't like.
