The management makes it so much worse

The actual apartments were pretty good. I was living with a friend short term as I had just started a job and he was looking for a bigger place. When we moved in, it was obvious that the place had been lived in. Worn carpets, tired paint (except on the "accent wall" more on that later) and a cm thick of grime on the under parts of the kitchen. We are both neat freaks, so we cleaned it up all well, but not before documenting everything wrong with pictures. Other than the garbage dumpsters being right outside, there was very little noise. By far quietest complex I have been in. The parking was horrible, though. If I came home after 5 I had a hard time finding a spot. The grounds on the western portion of the complex were nice, but on the street it was rather bland. Safety was never an issue with me or my friend, but we had neighbors cars get broken into. The staff was just a pain. Overall very hard to deal with. I only lived there 6 months before I got a place of my own. 12 months later when my friend tried to move out they put all these fees on him, saying he ruined the carpet, painted a wall without authorization (was on the original lease that tenet gets to choose color of wall and the complex even painted it), fees to clean every appliance, etc. etc. etc. I think they were saying AFTER the deposit (which they were trying to keep all of) he owed $1300. He took them to small claims and won and got the bulk of his deposit back even.
Overall, when everything was going fine and you were living there, it was pretty good. Once you have problems or try moving out, watch out!

This happened to me too! Weidner did not seem to care when we complained. Small claims is the best place to go for these situations!

Me too!! The place was pretty gross when we moved in. I am a neat freak too, so it was spotless when I left. They kept our deposit and charged us $1,000. Also, I tried to turn in my keys on the day our lease was up. I went in at 5:45 and they had left early. I waited to turn them in, since I was told I needed to do it in person and sign some papers. I went back the next day and she lied right to my face. She said she had stayed late that night, so she knew for a fact I was just making excuses and if that was the truth I should have put the keys in the rent drop box. They charged us pro-rated rent for that day and charged us because they felt they had to change the locks!!!
