Cheap place to live - not too bad

The managers, while slightly scary-looking, have always been friendly and helpful to me. Move-in was straightforward and easy, and I found brand new carpets and no bad smells in my studio.
When my toilet flush pressure was weak, I contacted the managers and they had it fixed by the next day with no hassle.
The community consists primarily of low-income families, many non-English speakers, and lots of kids. Few cars are parked there during the day, but it is packed at night, so I think many people work during the day.
There is Cable modem access from AT&T @Home. I loved it. I don't know about DSL.
