Just say NO!

First, the apartment managers are really nice prior to move-in day but once you move in they could give a crap about you or your apartment. Second, they claim to be "pet friendly," which is true if your definition of pet friendly is having to pay $600 per puppy and $300 per dog/cat in deposits and having to walk 10 minutes to a 5 x 5 patch of dirt for your dog to go to take a crap. Third, most of the appliances need to be thrown out and replaced but they are too cheap. Forth, the trash is almost always overflowing at the dumpsters. Fifth, they advertise themselves to be a gated community but in a 6 month period they had the front gate shut for a week, the rest of the time it was pried open with a rock...during when our car got broken into and stolen TWICE, but did the apartment managers care...NOPE! Sixth, the apartments overall are not too clean, the only thing they care about keeping clean are the porches and landscaping. Even though every apartment bldg has large patches of grass behind them, you are not allowed to take your pets on the grass (even if you clean it up right away) because it would take away from the "ambiance of what is Lake Villa." However, when you can't walk more than 1 foot in the grass without stepping in geese poop or cigarette butts, we didn't really understand how dog poop being on the grass for 1 minute would take away from the ambiance. We even got a notice to take the plastic bins off of our porch that contained our firewood because yet again, the ambiance was being ruined. Lastly, the straw that broke the camels back was having to pay about $1700 upon moving out of the apartment when the only damage was a 12 square inch patch of missing carpet. They were just waiting for the perfect opportunity to nail the cost of replacing the crappy carpet on a tenant who was moving out. If you need a place to live, just say NO to Lake Villa Club...trust us!!!
