It's getting worse by the month

This apartment complex is not the worst that I have lived in (I previously lived in Compton, CA....YES that is the comparison I am using). I have lived here almost a year. We get a new manager every 4 or 5 months. The most recent manager (Carisa) came in with gusto, promising TONS and delivering virtually nothing. The only way to get management or maintenance to do ANYTHING around here is by going the extreme route (getting ahold of emergency maintenance after hours involved calling the fire depatrment after 5 hours of paging maintenance)...Getting a broken window fixed (extremely broken...and was that way when I moved in) took almost 8 months...and was only done after I spoke to my lawyer and threatened legal action against them...You pay a "portion" of the water bill, but somehow every month that amount goes up $1 to $5...and while that may not seem like much, when you move in paying $20/mo for water swere and garbage and 10 months later you are paying approx $50/mo it is a little rediculous...
Black mold seems to be a problem in MANY of the apartments (I personally feel that this place should be condemned and yes I am moving out AS SOON as my lease is up). The landscaping is shoddy at best and
With 3 other apartment complexes surrounding this one (Comparable in price from wha ti hear) I would recommend any one of those before this one. Whatever you do DON'T move in to Parkside Village apartments. If you do you will wish you hadn't odusyNYCcZ7yL3Bj5JtG

How could you compare Parkside Village to Compton CA? Sounds to me like the above writer is simply nothing more than a disgruntled tenant. I've never had a problem with getting maintenance done in my apartment. I had a hot water heater bust and maintenance was there and had everything cleaned up within the hour. Carisa has been doing a fabulous job, based on the conditions the community was in when she took over. The previous manager, Julie, didn't do so well as a manager and allowed things to go by the waste side, and now Carisa is having to clean up. The above writer is probably one of those residents that should've never been allowed to move in!!!!! Please don't believe everything you read. As you can see Parkside Village rates at 80% which is the highest in Kent. If you want a quiet community to live in then move to Parkside Village. You won't be disappointed.

I can compare Parkside Village to apartments in Compton because it is VERY comparable. The only thing that makes these apartments better than the ones in Compton is the fact that Safety is better and there aren't roach or pest problems (You will note that I didn't make any negative comments towards safety or pest issues in my first response)
You are right however, I am a disgruntled tenant. I wouldn't post a bad review if I wasn't disgruntled. I am also not posting a biased review. My review was completely accurate as to what has happened since I moved in, and in fact I have included an update to my review below.
*UPDATE ON MY ORIGINAL REVIEW* Management is still horrendous, treats tenants with even less respect, however, the new maintenance guy seems to be doing a pretty good job. On average since he started piles of garbage only appear in front of the compactor on Sunday Nights and Monday Mornings...but that pile is always HUGE!
**Note** The response to my original post seems to be from Carisa herself or from a tenant who hasn't actually had to interact with Carisa on more than a "hello" basis.

Disgruntled tenants can never be used as a reliable source. Sounds like you have a personal problem with the manager and sounds like you are the only one. If the manager was so horrible then I'm sure most everyone that lives there, and that has posted reviews since your's, would have mentioned such a thing. I would assume that since you are more comfortable in Compton California then you should probably move back there and be with your kind!!!
As for me, I am a new resident to Parkside Village. I've never had any problems with either the manager or the maintenance man. The rent is decent and the complex is well-maintained.

the above responder seems to have a difficulty reading. If you read all the reviews after this one he/she is obviously not the only one who seems to have a problem with the Manager.

this is a nice place to live, quiet secluded, close to everything. my only concern is when i walk my dog in the evening before retiring for the night, we go by an apartment facing the church yard, why managment has not spoken to this person, confuses me. this persons { a heavy set woman with a small son} apartment reeks of dog urine and feces. i walk the far side of the lawn sometimes and i can smell this apartment. i am a disgruntled tennet, but only towards people like this woman who make it unpleasant for the other dog owners {please clean up after your dogs}
