The Royal Skies apartments were recently sold and are now called Pembrooke, which is supposed to represent a "gentleman's ranch." Ha! Most of the "improvements" they have made to the place are ridiculous and have done nothing but inconvenience residents and cause confusion. For example, they started putting up picket fences because they said they were going to gate the entrances, but that sits unfinished; they put up really cheap corrugated tin carports that they now charge $25 a month to park under, but the metal bars that hold them up block your doors so you can't get out of your car and they don't really do much but block your view; they put these giant barn doors on the trash enclosures, I guess to make it look better although it never looked bad, and now when your hands are full you have to hoist open these huge weird gates; they have blocked off parking spots with storage units so there's no place to park unless you rent a spot under the cheap carports, and the list goes on. And furthermore, management staff are rude and completely incompetent, with the head manager being the worst of the bunch. They do as little as they possibly can to assist residents, like when they changed all of our rental payment procedures but didn't tell us, then gave everyone who didn't comply (because they didn't know) 3-day pay or vacate notices! They have rented to many new tenants who are Spanish-speaking with limited English-speaking ability and yet the few notices they do give us are never translated into Spanish, so those people don't seem to know what is going on at all. Maintenance used to be great, but now the level of trash around the grounds has increased, there's no one on the premises after 6pm, so emergencies take forever for someone to get there, and the security has decreased too. No one seems to be able to handle noise or security complaints at all, so we just have to call the cops every time. In fact when I asked the head manager specifically about noisy parties, she told me to call the police. Well, I don't like doing that to my neighbors and the police don't really respond to things that aren't an emergency, so what are we supposed to do' After nearly 15 years with the previous management, I really hate it there now!
