Heed my warning- DO NOT MOVE HERE!

I first moved into a deluxe one bedroom in 8/2007, I was very excited to have so many of the amenities that I wanted (washer/dryer, fireplace, balcony, ex. storage). Little did I know the nightmare was just beginning. My first night there I found out that the kitchen sink leaked and rotted the wood below the sink. The hot water did not turn on in my bathroom, the washer leaked water all over the bathroom floor when you washed clothes. The hall closet door fell off my second time opening it. The nozzel on the shower was so stiff it wouldn't even turn on, and then the accordian doors to the washer and dryer broke the same week as move in. Apart from making several phone calls to maintenence I waited and waited, only one thing was fixed everyday.

That wasn't the only problem- I discovered that they don't have parking spaces for tenants unless you want to pay for a garaged spot. So if you get home from work any later than 6pm- consider yourself hiking to get back to your apartment because you will be parked in BFE!! (Hope you didn't bring home groceries).

In addition to all the previous problems I came home one day to find a note on my door saying that I was a month behind on rent and it was my final notice. I had only lived there for a month, and was current on all rent. When I took the note to the office, they apologized and said they had a "computer gliche."

Yes... it continues to get worse. GHETTO GHETTO GHETTO. I would say about 2 out of 5 nights of the work week I would be woken up at 3am, by 2 squabbling women. Fighting in the parking lot like roosters. I can't tell you how many times I had to call security then police to get them to be quiet. There were also guys that would fight outside as well, if it wasn't me it was my other neighbors yelling that they were calling the police to get them to be quiet.

Then I decided to get a roommate and move in to the 2 bedrooms because they raised the rent on my one bedroom by $70. Upon moving in to the 2 bedroom, I found out just how thin they make these walls. I can literally hear every step and movement of my neighbors upstairs, and next door. The sound of my neighbors shower wakes me up EVERY MORNING. I can also hear every noise my neighbor makes when he goes to the bathroom upstairs. I can hear the baby that lives across the pond from me when it cries (morning, afternoon, night).

Did I mention the swamp yet' Rock Creek has this lovely "pond" fully equipped with algae, duck crap, and any other miscellaneous item the unattended children that rage around the property after school decide to throw in there. Could be a tire, or an old computer, maybe a broken plastic table just to name a few.

Also a problem with the 2 bedroom unit is that there still yet remains to be close parking. Which again means an unsafe walk to your apartment, as well as your car getting broken into because you can't hear your own alarm.

On your way back to your apartment you will be either walking on the grass (dodging piles of left dog crap) trying to avoid all the ducks and geese that inhabit the sidewalk, or dodging all the goose crap that they leave behind them. Needless to say the sidewalks are not made for the human tenants. Side note: I did see a deceased duck on my way to the car the other morning. Must be because the swamp is so filthy.

Rock Creek also does not monitor the pet restriction policy they state they have. Only small dogs under 40lbs are aloud. I see on a daily basis 3 dogs that live in apartments around me which are clearly 60-70lb dogs. Yes I hear them bark too! AND P.S. the owners don't pick up their poop piles either.

The neighbors who live here are not at all considerate. It's terrible walking from your car to your apartment and having men hoot and holler at you as if you're a peice of meat. And of course there's nothing you can do about it. Daily ghetto harassement yes..... good for the soul. NOT.

My shower broke, it took 2 days to have someone fix it. The paint in my shower is peeling, and the sink in my bathroom needs to be re-caulked like it's never been done.

So to sum it up, if you like no parking, unsafe lots, rude/crude neighbors, polluted swamps, hissing geese, dog crap lawns, littered sidwalks, thin walls, noisy children, slow maintenence, bad customer service and sleepless nights- it's a great place to call home! I wouldn't recommend a studio- 1 bedroom, or 2 bedroom to my worst enemy!

I do not understand so My question is this...did you visit the property before you rented? I find it hard to beleive that they would clear or add parking spots, clean the "swamp" and the "dog crap piles" and get rid of all the water foul etc... just for you when you looked at the apartment!
