I lived in this place when it was all Chandler's Bay, like 1993! Moved in with a girlfriend into a first floor studio and I found it to be rather swank (means nice)! The lady above of was a nurse I think because she was always in scrubs! When she would be in a bathroom crying, over job or boyfriend, it was like being in a concert hall! When she would ride her treadmill it was like the place was falling down! The one good aspect back then was the place was cheap! The studio we stayed in was like just under $500/mos. My girlfriend ended up moving back to Yelm with her mother, due to pregnancy and after 4 months in Yelm her and I moved back into a two bedroom with our daughters, like 1994-95! I'll say that the ducks and geese have always been a problem, I would always watch where I was walking to avoid stepping in goose poop! The place was fairly quiet back then but things have gotten worse! In 2001 or so I moved into my own upper floor studio and rent was still fairly cheap, about $550/mos! The studios on the upper floors had vaulted ceilings and the bedroom was actually seperated by an opening with no door and wall with an opening at the top which was perfect for plant or a picture! So fast forward to current day, after it was Chandlers Bay, then Jonathan's Landing and now Rock Creek Landing! I lived there one more time and for the same studio they wanted $750/mos! Same square footage, same appliances from 1993, same ceramic tile counters that they actually painted over instead of replacing and began chipping off! The only thing they did different that justified them charging $200 more than they used to, was they added a door in the opening to the bedroom area, filled in the plant and picture are with drywall and then called it a one bedroom! I about fell outta the chair when I saw that price increase! Here's the icing on the cake when my girlfriend and I moved into this place in about 2006 I found roaches! It was at night and I wanted to get moved in so I went to the store before we put any furniture in and purchased a 3 bug bombs! I took the dishwasher out and sprayed raid behind there and I also noticed that there was something smelling and growing inside the bottom of the dishwasher! I dismantled the bottom of the dishwasher and removed the plastic screen thing that catches food and found maggots and dead roaches in there! I cleaned the crap out of that dishwasher, ran 3 cycles of bleach through it after I cleaned each of the parts that I removed and set off the bug bombs so that it would get behind the dishwasher! Gross, huh! Here's the other problem that I didn't see anyone talk about, mosquitoes!!! The creek behind the place is suppose to be maintained by either the city or the property, never really figured it out to prevent mosquitoes! Every time I sparked up the grill after dark there would be so many mosquitoes that you couldn't even stand outside and tend the grill! BTW I had a 2006 Kia Sorrento and mine and about 7 other SUV's has there back windows blown out by a pellet gun of sorts! I found the pellet and it was about the size of one you'd shoot from a slingshot! Only way I'd ever live in this place again is if they dropped the rent, replaced the appliances and I didn't have a car! Other than that it's okay, wait I forgot the Korean couple that would fight like cats and dogs!
