DONT MOVE HERE...
I am a first time renter, and this was a bad experience for me. I've had problems with the Landlord from the very first day. Their not organized and have a way of misleading information. I've ALWAYS heard of when you first sign your lease, their suppose to by law, give you your mailbox key that same day. They did that but, it was an old key that they dont even use anymore, when I returned to the office the next day, all the landlord told me was, ok, just tell the mailman to leave your weeks mail in the office, in that case I did. After that week, I continuosly called the office to see if I had any mail or if they had changed the locks. She told me No, I haven't recieved any mail and that they kept missing the mail man in order for them to change their locks. I didnt recieve my key for about a month in a half later. I had to get off early enough in- time to catch the mailman my self, and when I did that, thats when they had my locks changed.. Over a Weeks mail was stuffed in my box...
They talk about all these fees for missed deadlines, so whats the fee for them witholding my mail from me, isn't that against the law'''
Now that I'm about to move out, I gave my notice verbally within my 20 days, the landlord said ok and printed out a checklist for me to do with no specific date. They waited until the 12th of this month to tell me that I will be responsible for next months rent if they can't find a person to rent out my place. Why couldn't they just tell me over the phone i needed a written notice to.. By me trying to get another apartment, they had denied me for renting, because they said I had poor reference from previous landlord.. Now I can't move-in to the new apartments, and next months rent.. I feel I was discriminated and these apartments need to be shut down, and better qualified staff..
