This complex is not a bad place to live but Kent just never felt like home so I am moving.
Things I liked:
Incredibly friendly office and maintenance staff.
I only had one or two maintenace issues and they were handled quickly and done right.
The grounds are kept up pretty well and the landscaping is nice.
Considering the complex is very large there was very little noise, no big parties or anything. Also, very little noise transferred from one apartment to another. Occassionally I would hear my downstairs neighbor's stereo. But my biggest problem was waking up to my next door neighbor verbally abusing his girlfriend. But it really was quiet in general.
They organize several social events a month, and although I never went I think they are a fun idea.
Things I disliked:
I learned to ALWAYS ask which unit they are giving you and have them take you to it, even if you can't go in. The first one they tried to give me was right over highway 516 and it was SO LOUD.
My mailbox was located no where near my apartment. And I mean NO WHERE NEAR! Always ask where yours will be. That system is rediculous.
Parking around your own building can be hard at night but I liked that we didn't have assigned spots.
The windows should be replaced for ease of use, better security, and energy saving purposes.
It is hard to arrange the livingroom with a TV.
The bathtub has absolutely no traction. I know that sounds like a petty complaint but it is like the thing has been waxed and there are no handles. I am a 23 year old girl and I fell in the shower. I finally reverted to my college days and wore sandals when I showered.
They just raised two of the speed bumps and they totally scrape my car which has not been lowered in any way.
The trees drop this thick fuzzy pollen stuff that makes all of the cars gross.
The place is huge which can make it hard to give people directions to your place.
