Just OK at best.

I suppose parking would be a good place to begin this review. Each apartment had one assigned stall, and there were about 2 other stalls to each 3 assigned ones. You would think this woul dbe ample parking, but because so many of the 2 bedroom apartments were rented out by two or more pople in a shared-rent situation, it was extremely difficult to find parking if you were that second person who came home.

The visitor parking is a joke. It is all the way at the entrance to the complex and if you didn't live in the first couple of buildings, it was a ridiculous hike to the visitor parking lot.

Cars were consistently broken into, and management's response was to leave notes on everyone's door that basically said, "not our problem."

Maintenance took a while to get to problems, and in the case of our constantly running toilet, never fixed it properly even after multiple trips and complaints.

Rent was raised numerous times to "keep up with other complexes in the area", but in reality, those "other complexes" we were keeping up with had something Skyline Apartments did not, namely amenities.

There was no pool, workout area, or real playground for kids (just a fenced in grass area abutting the parking lot) like other apartments, and other apartments with those amenities were often lower priced.

The pricing scheme for the apartments doesn't make sens either. We were friends with the fellow who lived below us on the ground floor, and he said his apartment cost more because of the convenience of living on the ground floor. Whereas we were told by the complex that our apartment cost more because on the second floor we had a "view" (of trees). I can only imagine what excuses they used on other people for outrageous rents.

Because we are not the sort of people who complain about everything, we said nothing about our noisy neighbors (one of the leasing agents lived in our building and her kids were always running and screaming ouside), but they consistenly complained about our noise, even on Thanksgiving, one of the few times we had people over (see:poor visitor parking situation) and when we were not home.

It was, to be short, not an idyllic place to live. People whould drive up to pick up their friends and honk at all hours of the night.

The mailboxes were also far from the apartment and it was always a long walk or a drive to pick up the mail.

In the time I lived there, it also seemed that it got noisier with ruder neighbors and more theft problems as time went on. I'm the kind of person who hates to move and will put up with a lot of stuff in the hope it will get better, but in this case, the downhill slide and increasing rent and worsening attitude from management made me say, "I've had enough" and I got out.

I can say that they were fair in that we got most of our deposit back, but that's really the best I can say.

I suppose it's not all that bad a place to live, but not anything I would ever recommend to someone I liked.
