To be fair, this is not the worst place to live, but it is far from great. The rent is relatively cheap, but being a low-income complex, you'd think it'd be just a bit cheaper than other places. When I moved in I was pretty happy here, but as time has gone on, things seem to be getting worse.

Safety here has always been a bit of an issue, although I've had nothing happen to me personally and most of the issues I'm familiar with have had nothing or little to do with actual tenants here. This isn't the greatest neighborhood. This is not the fault of Ventana, that's just how it is. I hear gunshots once every couple of months. People's cars have been broken into/stolen, etc.

The grounds are pretty well-kept overall, but the garbage OH GOD THE GARBAGE it is overflowing ALL OF THE TIME! If you don't get your trash out within 24 hours of the bins being dumped forget about throwing it out OR you could be like so many others and just throw your trash bags everywhere. I try to be respectful to my fellow tenants (I don't know why at this point) and not throw garbage everywhere, but that results in garbage bags sitting in my apartment waiting for the opportunity to get rid of them, which effects my own quality of life.

The buildings are pretty old so don't be surprised if you can hear EVERYTHING your neighbors do or say. Most people are pretty respectful of the noise issue, but some are not.

The management: They mean well, but I've had a lot of issues. They seem to be very VERY unorganized and unprepared. There were slight issues from day one 9not being told certain things about the apartment, them not being prepared for my move-in despite the fact it had been scheduled, etc.) but overall things were fine. Within the past six to eight months though, everything has been a struggle. I won't go into detail, but I hate HATE unprofessionalism and thus I'm losing patience.

This place has the potential to be decent. The rent should be a bit lower, fix the garbage mess, and get the staff on track again and this place will be fine. I have awhile left on my lease, but I probably won't be re-signing again.
