I live in a top floor corner apartment, 2 bedroom and one bathroom... vaulted ceilings. Personally... I think it's great. For the price we pay and the size of the apartment I have no complaints. Some of the appliances could be updated a little (mostly referring to dishwasher) but overall things are fine. The kitchen is big enough with plenty of counter space. The living room and dining areas are large enough to not feel cramped (the vaulted ceilings help with this) and the bedrooms are good sized too.

The washer and dryer in our unit are full size and run fine.

We did have an issue with noisy neighbors below us, but one call to security at 1am and they were handled. I've barely heard from them since, and it's been months.

The maintenance has always been quick and responsive. No complaints at all there.

Oh and yes... we've had cars broken into as well. The apartment complexes ACROSS the street are ghetto. Never park in the front parking lot.
