I had my car broken into twice, and notified the management at woodland estates. Kent PD did absolutely nothing to solve the problem, although I had strong evidence to point to a suspect.(got their name and number when they tried to use my credit card). Management told me it happened to them as well, and told me, 'don't keep boxes or anything in your car.' Management hasn't put security cameras or grounds security out to solve the problem, though common. I suspect a corrupt system at work here. DO NOT MOVE HERE.

Common Sense tells you not to leave credit cards, stereo, or packages of any sort in your car! Management can not be held responsible for intruders who break into your car because of your carelessness of leaving valuables unattended. Lets face it theft has become a major problem in washington state. Police have little motivation to persue these cases because all our justice system does is slap them on the wrist. You know it takes 7 car thefts for a person to actually see jail time????? Be a responsible citizen and take neccessary precautions to protect yourself. Management now has security 7 nights a week patrolling the parking lot. But like everywhere they cant be a million different places at once. Very quiet peaceful apartment community. No Booming stereos or drug dealers here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, perhaps it is "common sense" not to leave credit cards and valuable things in your car, although, the car itself is valuable. :-) One might wonder if one didn't leave valuable things in one's car that a thief might just take the car itself, which is worth way more then any credit card. And of course, "Management" literally "can not" be held responsible, however, "is" responsible. If you check out a dictionary, perhaps, dictionary.com and look up ???Management,???-- you will see that the notion of management and lack of responsibility is clearly contradictory. therefore management is responsible or isn't management? I wonder who will I pay my rent check to if there aren't any ???managers??? supervising the apartments. I continue, ???lets face it theft has become a major problem in Washington state.??? Well, this idea is a redundancy, misleading, superfluous, and known as a red hairring, e. g., Is logically flawed. Crime generally isn't uniform in nature. The idea of uniformity, equal crime everywhere in Washington is impossile. For example, one can through experience know that there is more crime in Kent then in Bellevue or if one isn't intelligent enough to learn through experience, one can use evidence such as police reports, etc. Perhaps, theft has become a major problem at the woodland estates?
???Be a responsible citizen and take necessary precautions to protect yourself..??? Of course after realizing that management is incompetent I will be a responsible ???person??? and take the necessary precautions to protect myself, which is moving to another apartment and never coming back!

I think you would find the same problem at most Kent apartment complexes in the same price range. At least they have people (seem to be residents of the complex) sitting at the entrance on most nights monitoring the cars coming in. You probably wouldn't even get that elsewhere. Perhaps this is a new development since you lived there though. Auto theft is a problem almost anywhere you park in the region. We've had more problems at my workplace and they have cameras and a security guard! Anyway, your problem seems to be more with Kent P.D. than Woodland Estates. "Corrupt system at work here", ha! That's just stupid.
