My husband and I have been living in the Ascent Apartments close to 2 years and we just moved out due the fact the new manager ------ is "TOTALLY INCOMPETENT" to manage ANY apartment community. Upon moving out of the apartment in the Ascent we received the STATEMENT OF MOVE-OUT CHARGES. We were extremely shocked to see the charges applied to us.

APARTMENT CLEANING- $100
TOUCH UP PAINT - $150
HEAVY CARPET CLEAN- $200 (CLEANING, BIOKILL, POWERSCRUB)
TOTAL - $450

When we went to address the issue with ------, she explained that EVERY single resident that moves out of an apartment at Ascent is charged for a full paint as well as a full apartment clean. She explained the Ascent pass ALL of the charges to the resident. I have previously worked in this industry, I was shocked that this policy are for every resident as I KNOW that this is NOT VALID. I KNOW IT'S HER OWN POLICY. It's obvious she's new at this. She's very high on her horse and almost unbearable to talk to.

We asked ------ to walk through the apartment with us so that I could see what she was charging us for. My brother, husband and I clean the apartment prior to the moved out and it's in spotless condition. She seemed as if it was the first time she had seen the apartment since we moved out. I assume this is true since she did not gave us a copy of the detailed ITEMIZE MOVED-OUT REPORT, and she made the comment that the apartment DID look clean. In addition, ------ had not done the "PRE-INSPECTION" prior to moved-out.

In October she had been collecting money from us that was over our rent owed. It is not clear if it was a math error on our part or on her part, we had been given a notice that we owed $62 for a small balance. In November, I questioned this small balance since my bank records indicated our rent had been paid in full. This notice was actually supposed to go to the apartment next door and was erroneously type with our apartment number and placed on our door.
That shows you how "COMPETENT" she is.

Parking is a *HUGE* problem -- there just aren't enough spots. Pay for a reserved parking spot for $25 every month other people park in your reserved spot and we can't have it towed unless management approves it and after 6pm the office is closed, good luck, so everyone parks at curbs, next to dumpster or on the side of the road, complained numerous time to ------ nothing has been done what so ever. If you don't get home by 5:30 p.m. after working, you WILL NOT find anywhere to park.

Not the maintenance person, though. Maintenance was always quick to the repairs and he were always professional and courteous. The location and the maintenance person are the only good things about this property.

I would advised PINNACLE MANAGEMENT COMPANY to get a COMPETENT manager for this apartments complex, if not I foresee you would stand to lose more tenants and lease renewals in the future. Quot my words, time will tell...

I feel it necessary for me to respond to this extremely offensive rating. This rating is very specific, so I know exactly who wrote it. I was a bit shocked to hear such slander from someone that I had just met. I took over this property as the manager only weeks before they moved out. I have been working for Pinnacle (at another property) for close to 4 years now, and I consider myself to be very competent. This rating refers to me posting a letter of money owing on their door, when I was not even the manager here at the time! This rating then continues to accuse me of collecting too much money from them on a monthly basis. Number 1, again I was not the manager at the time. Number 2, when you read and sign a lease document, you need to pay attention to the rent amount. Bottom line is that they did get all of their money back, and I have spoken with the resident since posting this rating. They both said that they did not post this letter, and are very confused how it got on this website. This leads me to believe that someone got a hold of an e-mail sent to myself from them with all of the pertinant information. This goes to show how completely innaccurate this website can portray an apartment community. I have written to apartmentratings.com several times regarding this particular rating, and have yet to hear back from them. It's too bad we can't rate this website! If anyone reading this is intersted in Ascent Apartment homes, I encourage you to come see it for yourself! We recently remodeld our community, and I think you will love calling this your new home! 425-820-0139 :)
