The posting below mine really bugged me, so I felt the need to post my own. I have been living at The Ascent for almost two years also and I am confused as to why the person below me is referring to the new manger as incompetent . I wonder if they ever met the manager that worked here before her' Or they might just be referring to the old manager all together. I have worked in property management for years and I could tell right away that, that lady one seemed to never have used a computer before, and two had no idea how to do her job. This place use to be a so unorganized. I got a few notices that I owed money when I didn t and I would think after talking to the former manager that they would be taken care of, as she assured me, but then the next month I would get the same notice. This happened numerous times, along with noise complaints not being taken care of, etc. I don t know what happened to the old manager, but I am happy she is gone, and even happier that this new manager is here. If you are wondering why I still rented here, the old manager wasn t working the day I came in and toured and the day signed my lease and moved in.

Not only does the new manager seem completely competent, but she is extremely friendly and willing to work with you on any issue. The first day I met her was the day I was dropping off my rent and I asked her if the wrong charge/balance on my account had finally been taken care of. I really did not want to get another balance owing notice on my door and have to come into the office and go over it again just for it to show up on my door the following month! She told me that she had spent the last day cleaning up the wrong charges and wrong balances on everyone s accounts. She also let me know that I actually had a credit on my account, and offered to let me pay less this month or the next month. I don t think someone that is incompetent could notice and fix problems before they are even brought to their attention, do you' Also if you have ever lived in an apartment you know that move out charges are common. You apartment always gets professionally cleaned, and the carpets get professionally cleaned. Would you want to move into a place that had just been cleaned by someone in a hurry to get out of there and the floors had only been sort of seeped and vacuumed' I wouldn t and I don t mind paying for it to be cleaned after I leave that is why you put down a deposit in the beginning.

I really love my apartment here, it had been completely remodeled before I moved in. It s quiet, my neighbors are friendly, i have my own washer and dryer (coming from California, that is a big deal!), and maintenance is always quick to respond and they keep you in communication if they need to order a part or something and the issue is going to take longer than a day to fix. My only complaint would be parking, but I do understand that they can t purchase any more land to build a bigger parking lot so unless you want to pay for assigned parking, then you will just have to deal with street parking, or buy a house! Which is what I did and that is the only reason I am moving out, or I would have stayed for much longer. All in all I have really enjoyed my time living here, especially since the new manager has come along!
