COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT STAFF... WILL TREAT YOU LIKE ABSOLUTE CRAP. THEY COULD GIVE A RATS IF YOUR APARTMENT SMELLS LIKE SMOKE (EVEN IF YOUR ALLERGIC) THEY WILL LIE ABOUT EVERYTHING AND WILL NEVER GIVE YOU THE CORPORATE PHONE NUMBER TO CONTACT SOMEONE FOR HELP. I ENDED UP IN THE HOSPITAL BECAUSE I AM ALLERGIC TO SMOKE AND THE STAFF DID NOT CARE ONE BIT... THEY TOLD ME IT WAS MY PROBLEM AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO BREATHE IT UNTIL MY LEASE WAS OVER.

This review is very one sided and is not the most accurate depiction of Chelsea at Juanita Village and its staff.
This apartment complex does allow smokers in, as we do not discriminate our residents. We fully comply with all of the regulations and protocols of the Washington State Housing Authority.
This staff has gone out of its way to assist and solve the concerns of this resident. We apologize profusely that her experience hasn't been the best with us. The staff is most certainly in the office during office hours. This particular resident hasn't made many trips to the office during the hours to really know for sure. Most of the calls that we have gotten have been after hours late at night and there isn't much that can be done at those hours. But when she has come in she has always been nice and appreciative of all that we are "trying" to do to help her. We had even called her and found an apartment in another building and there were NO smokers on the floor. She was going to take it, but we guess she just wanted out, due to her circumstances.
All of our maintenance requests are completed within 48 hours usually fewer than 24. In this particular case it was more involved and because of the various dynamics involved in the suggested solutions not being satisfactory the staff continued to persist in finding a resolution.
If there really have been as many messages left, and we haven't been here in the office during office hours as this review would suggest than how on earth can one say that we interrupt when they are stating that there issues with their current living conditions. That's a bit far fetched and doesn't reflect accurately the staff and community that are involved in this predicament.
We here at Chelsea do not force anyone to sign a lease against their will. It has never been a policy here at this community and if it was we wouldn't be doing business very well or very long. We give options and factual information and is the choice of anyone interested as to if those conditions are suitable for them. This resident and the roommate made a choice that it was suitable and the conditions were definitely agreed upon. To suggest that there was force or coercion to sign a lease is just not truth and that is not at all how Chelsea does business. We appreciate all of our residents that decide to make a home here and we have wonderful residents and a wonderful community here!
At the time this resident came to tour the property it was said that we have a secured access parking garage and that there is an additional cost to park in the garage. We did give them prices as to how much it is to utilize the garage at the time in which they toured. We were very much upfront and did not hide anything about the garage parking. We let them know that this area is patrolled by Diamond Parking. They were advised that there isn't any street parking and if they decided to do that then they needed to adhere to the posted signs in the area as to length of time allowed and hours allowed so as to avoid tickets.
This review is an opinion of one individual that has every right to disagree and to state their case. This is not a fair nor accurate representation of Chelsea at Juanita Village. We work very hard to provide a great living experience to all of our residents. We apologize for the hardship that this resident is experiencing and we don't take lightly what's been said. This will cause us to work even harder to provide excellent care and service of our property, staff, and most importantly our residents.

I was also a tennant for a few months at this apartment and will recommend that NO ONE live here. Based on the response of the Chelsea they obviously do not listen to their tenants. At the first walk-through I had of my apartment I mentioned to the male leasing officer that the apartment smelled like smoke and he brushed it off and said it would go away. To my dismay it never did and had to live in an ashtray for 2 months. Also during the walk through and during the signing of the lease I was never notified about parking on the street and was actually encouraged to by the leasing office to not have to pay in the parking garage which caused me to receive numerous parking tickets. I was told that it was going to be $90 for two cars to be parked in the lot of course after I signed the lease which is ridiculous so we tried to only pay for one car. Again they messed up and did not give us our opener for the garage and when I went in to tell them that they did not believe me and once they looked in the back and found it they realized they never gave it to us. Upon move out I had already turned in the garage opener because it wasn't being used and they tried to charge us for it because they did not remember or write down that it had already been turned in. Back to the cigarette smoke we had asked numerous times for this to be taken care of and they kept saying they would put knew screens in behind our lights because somehow the smoke was coming through the lights but this never happened and the only thing offered to take care of the smoke was a poisonous gas that sprays every half hour and on the can it says do not put in a household and that is how they were trying to fix it. Again we were polite and tried to get easy things taken care of but the lack of knowledge of the leasing office in informing us of parking and such shows that this place is incompetent and should completely rearrange how they do business and work with the tenants. DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!!

Hello I am a current tenant of The Chelsea at Juanita Village. After being told the buildings were smoke free I signed a lease. There has been horrible smoke smells throughout my floor and it even got into my apartment due to a draft under the door. I have complained about this to Chelsea multiple times. They have never done anything. I purchased a draft blocker for my door so the smoke wouldn't get in and that seems to work. But the smell of smoke in the common areas is horrendous. I have to hold my breath and run to my apartment everyday. I will now be contacting Brad Wuerer. Thank-you for listing his contact info!
PS- don't live here - you can live in dt kirkland for just as cheap if you shop around.

Brad is no longer the contact person for Chelsea, the new one is Melanie Shamley, and that would be mshamley@prmc.com.
