I've thought a lot about writing a review on Chelsea apartments but haven't yet because they will obviously know who my fiance and I are! However, the person causing all of my negativity appears to no longer be a part of the management.

So here it is:

1. Upon signing a contract, we were TOTALLY rushed and pressured by ----. It was 15 minutes before they closed, and she literally told us to "just sign" because we apparently were asking too many questions! She said she needed to go home because she had kids to feed! I had already read all the bad reviews, so we were very wary already upon signing a contract and this made it worse!

2. ---- was completely rude to us when telling us about what to do if we get locked out. She said "If you get locked out, just call your cell phone and buzz yourself in!" and we're like, what' And she said (louder) "just CALL YOUR CELL PHONE..... AND BUZZ YOURSELF IN!" and we were like, "Uh, sorry, we still don't get it." She then says "Duh, BLONDE MOMENT!" as if we're the dumb ones. To this day we haven't figured out what she meant.

3. We were told we didn't pay our pet rent and had to give the management a printed out copy of our check that had been turned in

4. Got a noise complaint at 2 pm on a Saturday with door open and music playing indoors

5. My fiance's MOM was called (!!!) to report that he had allegedly thrown away a McDonald's bag in the recycle bin'! This NEVER happened! This was the last straw for us with their ridiculousness! ---- said that a tenant had seen him throw it away. We don't know anyone else at the apartment, so the person who "saw" him must have described him visually to her!' And then ---- decided this visual description was good enough to call his MOTHER (because she was listed as a contact or something') to accuse him of something he didn't do! She didn't even try calling my fiance first!

I seriously can't believe this place. This all happened in like a month. I think they like to peg younger people who live here because it's assumed they're the ones causing trouble. I think management needs to take more of a 'can i help you' attitude because these bad reviews are probably turning lots of people away.

Our apartment is nice, though. And I like the place a lot better knowing we don't have to deal w/ her. Maintenance guys have always been good, and I don't have problems with noise, heat, plumbing, or weird smells (except in hallway).

Also, I think its unprofessional for the management to comment on anyone's review - refer to the ridiculous post that goes on forever on this site. If someone had a negative opinion of your complex, then don't come back with "I know who this tenant is, and they actually DIDN'T pay rent on time" etc. Let them express their feelings, and hopefully they won't have reason to post something negative (true or not!)
