DO NOT MOVE HERE! Creepy malicious maintenance staff and more!!

Since renting at various place for 9 years, and never have I had to write a review to boo an apartment except for this time. I would say that this place should be called the EVERHELL!!!!!! It all started (after I have lived here for about 5 months)when the maintenance staff came into my apartment to install lights as they were scheduled to for the whole complex, the jerk had left the lights on for the entire 5 days before I decided to open my porch door one day and noticed that it had on the entire time. I called the rental office to report but I was put on hold for 10 minutes. Frustrated, I left a message and a number for them to call me back, but no returned call. As per the previous reviews about this place as a place for migrant workers and trashy people is true, and their staff matched it.
A month later, while I was getting ready for work at my professional job and while I was in the shower, the new property manager named Lynn and a teenage boy of a maintenance bastard (I called him a name because of the aftermath of what you'll see they did to my properties) banged loudly on my door. When got out of the shower to go to the door to ask who they were and what they wanted' They yelled through the door claiming that they were 'maintenance and were here to do an annual inspection and will give me 5 minutes to get out!'. I asked them for 15 minutes to get ready and explained to them that I was in the shower. They said 'nope, we'll give you 5'. Guess what' 10 minutes later, they came back and banged for 2-3 minutes and insisted that I get out so they could come in and do their inspection. It gets even better..
Then when I got back later that night, they not only did their stupid inspection but were unprofessional and brazen enough to have taken my shoes and belongings out of the closet by the door and flung them all over the adjacent hallway (I even took pictures of that). I called the Essex corporate the next day to complain, but the Essex manager was out. I told the receptionist the story and left her with my number to call, but never received a returned phone call.
Then a week after that, my brand new car was coincidentally scratched!! Two scratches of 6" and 4" long. I called the cops to report it and had explained to him of the previous incidences and had gotten a report number.
I gave my notice to vacate, but guess what' A week later, while vaccumming my apartment to get the heck out of the EVERHELL, I opened the sliding porch door for fresh air. Guess what'' I noticed that the screen door had been opened wide! I had never go outside because I work a lot, and always kept the screen door closed b/c of mosquitoes. I called the police again and explained the whole situation from the very first violation two months ago and the officer had informed me that they had violated my civil rights as a tenant by demanding to get out of my apartment in '5 minutes', not even the police have those rights unless they have a warrant. Disgusting, gross, and despicable.
DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! Do not be tricked by the nice lawns and appearances.

In response to this post, this person obviously did not read the Memos that went to all the residents about the new lights being put in, all
this person had to do was turn off the porch light, so what if it had been on for 5 days, it did not hurt anything or anybody. There was a memo that went around about the apartment inspection and to please remove items from the closet that the water heater is in so they can put
a bracket on the water heater, etc. obviously this person did not read that either, if he/she did they would have followed the instructions on what to do for the apartment staff to make it easier for them, and would not have to remove someone's belongings. As far as your new car, did it really happen at the apt's or at your workplace??? I can't imagine someone who works here doing that just for revenge. you also mentioned that you opened your door and found that your porch light was on, you had to open your sliding glass door and screen door to see that right?? Perhaps you forgot to close your screen door??? This entire post is absolutely ridiculous and pure nonsense. The new Apartment Manager, Lynn is very nice and so willing to work issues/problems out with the residents. Kevin, Juanita are wonderful!! I have been here now for 6 years and still happy here.

I used to live here too, and the poster is right. The staff are very intrusive and are constantly coming in for random inspections.

Karen,
Leaving my lights on doesn't kill anybody but it showed negligence and wasted my money. Would you like to pay my electric bill? The police even told me that slapping a notice on someone's front door and expecting someone to get it, is not entirely legitimate. They should have put the notice in the mailbox! Obviously you sounded like someone who works there pretending to post as a customer, or a friend of one of the people that I have mentioned in my post. Get lost. This apartment complex is trash!!!!
Again, people do NOT move here!!! I would rather live in the ghetto of Seattle than live in this HELL HOLE. FYI, the only nice ones were Sylvia and Juanita. Did you know that Lynn, the of a property manager is so nasty that she has even made Juanita cry?
Please take a grammar class and check your information carefully before posting crap on here.
I totally agree with poster 03121231, regarding the STAFF being "INTRUSIVE and CONSTANTLY coming in for RANDOM INSPECTIONS". Again, this place should be called THE EVERGREEN HELL instead of the Evergreen Heights.

Wow. Take a breather and get on with your life. There is no need to post a tantrum. I see the comments on this site, and very rarely do people give credit to how hard the staff works. To everyone that works at Evergreen Heights, I am very appreciative for all that you do, and you cannot make everyone happy, and I understand that...wish others would as well. You have made my living experience great and I will continue to rent here.

This is not a tantrum if I am stating the truth for others to see so that they could be well informed. I think that I am doing the public a good deed because my motives were not of malice, but rather to state the facts and to be informative to them. After all, that is what blogging is about. Let me ask you one question, wouldn't you like it if before you've decided to move into a place, that you could read some honest reviews from the former or present tenants there? I have forgotten to mention that Kevin seemed nice as well. I believe that this formerly nice apartment complex is slipping down a steep slope toward HELL because of bad management. Lynn had failed to regulate crap and simply do her job. The ring leader of all of the unprofessional behaviors, violation of privacy, and harassment is no one other than she. I think she should either resign or get FIRED by Essex. I was totally satisfied when the other manager was in office at the Evergreen (for the five months that I have lived here), and prior to the inception of the very first bad incidence (of leaving the lights on) of which I have noted above. The key players in this nightmare are Lynn and Nick, and that -- my friend, is as honest as it gets.
