Has its flaws, but pretty good

This review is given for a three-bedroom townhome, in a building at the periphery of the complex. It's a big place and seems pretty old, so people in a more central location might have had a different experience.
Noise: Lots of kids and leaf blowers during the day, but things quiet down in the evening and people rarely break the noise ordinance. The downside of living close to a hospital is that the sirens may take some getting used to.
The thing I love most about this place is that I CAN'T HEAR MY NEIGHBORS inside my house! This is the first apartment-like building I've ever lived in where I don't know what TV program my neighbors are watching or what they're having for dinner.
Construction: My biggest gripe about the place: It's all old and creaky. The front hallway and kitchen have three places where the floor actually pushes down when stepped on. The living room isn't so bad, but you can hear every step taken in the upstairs bedrooms from there. I have two major creaks between my bed and the door, and every time I step into the bathtub I'm afraid I'm going to fall through. The funny thing is, when we moved in, the agent was all excited about the new carpeting. When are ya'll going to replace the FLOORS' Water flow is also very loud. At least the appliances are reasonably new.
Parking: Always available around my unit. May be a problem in more central areas.
Safety: Everything is well lit and I haven't heard of any car prowls. I feel safe walking around at night and leaving things in my car. If you're driving during the day, though, look out for kids riding their skateboards or bikes or whatever.
Grounds: Nothing to write home about. The "playground" is a joke; I think they expect us to take kids to the park down the street.
Maintenance: The handyman is a bit unpredictable, but at least he showed up, which is more than I could say at some properties. He's actually pretty nice, too.
Staff: Quirky but helpful! They pay attention to you and they get things done.
Overall: I'm pretty comfortable here, though for what we're paying the floors should be in better repair. Unfortunately, the way rents are rising, I don't expect to be able to afford to sign the next lease. Stupid Kirkland.
