The Bad:

I am absolutely LIVID to discover that our water bills are divided amongst the rest of the residents in the building. This fact in and of itself is enough to make me want to leave.

Regarding the staff, I agree wholeheartedly that BRE lost an amazing maintenance person in Ramon. However, to date, I am completely satisfied with the responses of the current maintenance team to the few issues I have had with our apartment. The answering service is another story altogether. Twice I have called and twice I have talked to incredibly rude morons.

If the water bill isn't enough to make me want to leave, the manager who took over for Karen is (shame on BRE - bring her back and I'll consider renewing my lease for a third time). Joann is completely incapable of showing warmth or concern. If she is the only person in the office when I walk in the door...whether it's to pick up a package or to pay the rent...I will walk right back out again and return when there is an actual human being present. She is rude and lacks any sort of redeeming features in my mind.

The Good:

Joann excluded, this staff is fabulous. Christy has gone out of her way for me more times than I can count. Even when she's not in the best of moods, she finds a way to turn it around and smile. She is fast to respond and follow up on any problems one may have. Example:

A drunken nitwit resident stole my car from in front of the main building (totally my bad; I left it running when I went in to grab a package). Christy was on the phone to 911 reporting this in a FLASH and I believe wholeheartedly that it was her immediate response that led to a safe ending to what could have been a disasterous situation. She even took care of having the interior cleaned after it was discovered that said drunken moron...er...befouled the drivers' seat.

I will give Kudos to BRE as a whole for ousting these idiots rapidly, but it was Christy who saved the day. Extraordinary circumstances. Extraordinary assistance. Extraordinary people. Period.

The apartments themselves are aesthetically beautiful. I agree with the other residents, however, with regards to the quality. Our apartment is 2 stories and I can hear my cats moving about upstairs.

We are unsure as to whether or not we will renew at this point.
