Think Again From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 5/29/2003 Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2001   Parking, cell phone service, and cable are a mess. It took them weeks and severall phone calls to fix a wobbly stair. My apt. though it was top floor was very noisy. We were in the L building, there was a ton of noise from the nearby garbage area. Nearly everyday the apartment staff had all of these little carts out there hauling all the garbage containers and construction waste to this one area. Also the walls were very thin, although we were only attached to one other place we could always hear their bathroom fan. Here is the worst part. My grandmother was over and spilled her coffee on the carpeting. It was a rather large stain. I tried everything too get it up but could only get it a little lighter. So the carpets were rather old and pretty worn already, and I found out they replaced them. They tried to charge me for a carpet cleaning and re-dye of that spot when they had done no such thing! Then they said I was lucky that they were only charging me my deposit plus 300.00 more for the cleaning/dye because they could charge me for the carpeting. They were really rude and said that I should have stated that the 4 year old carpeting was "not in new condition" on my move in inspection. They proabably were able to charge more for that apartment and deduct the cost of the carpet as a business expense. I spoke with both the property manager and their lawyer about this illegal charge, they were both really rude (especially the lawyer) and threatening. I ended up paying their carpet clean and dye fee, even though they did no such thing for fear it would ruin my very short rental history. Oh, and they also hosed me on the drip pans, those cost about 1.50 to 2.00 to replace and they charged $16.00 for all 4. My advice: cover them w/ foil, or get install new ones before you move. THINK AGAIN, BEFORE YOU MOVE HERE!
