I don't understand all the negative comments about the staff. The staff does its best while they're here during the day. True, they do fudge a little about how much the maintenance cost will be. They have a shuck and jive that it's about $15 or $20. The wording of the contract looks like it's a pro-rated amount per person, based upon the bill for the entire building. We were thus a bit shocked getting a $65 bill the first month. In actuality, though, our contract states "per occupant", and since we have 3 total in our unit, multiplied by the pro-rated amount that's usually around $20 per person, plus some administrative fees, it works out to about $22 per person. Just read your contract thoroughly, before signing, and if you don't see something in writing that the staff is leading to you believe is included, make them put it in there or just don't count on it being true.
Yes, the cell phone service here sucks. Basically, no towers are allowed in this area, because it's right next to a wetlands preserve, and since we're in a bit of a valley... that's just how it is. Blame your cell providers that state they cover this area, and force them to come out here to prove that indeed their service doesn't work, and you'll get your money back. Either that or get Nextel, and it will work most of the time (but just barely). Or, get analog service and pay through the nose.
Also, there is the odd party here and there on weekends that goes on well after 10pm quiet hours. If you don't like it, call the police. That works. Otherwise, let the just out of college kids have their fun as long they keep it down reasonably.
So, those are the drawbacks. There's too many nice things about the place to get much more than started.
As far as the maintenance goes, in our case, the maintenance response has been better than great. Unclogging the toilet with a half hour's notice,.... I could go on and on. Very good. The maintenance staff loves their work, and seems committed to keeping everything looking good and working as well as possible. If something breaks down, just ask. Give them a few days, and they fix it or replace it.
Just be friendly and reasonable, and you'll love this place.
