Convenient Kirkland downtown location, nice management, but yes, pricey.

I've lived at Tera for most of a year and I like it. It's expensive (my small 1BR with a marginal view is over $1400 a month, but rent varies quite a bit). The appliances are nice, I had new carpet, the bathroom is decent, and there is plenty of water pressure, though you do have to manage the toilet judiciously. :) Power and water total less than $100 per month. Comcast and Verizon offer cable service.

The management team has always been very helpful and friendly (Aditi is a peach!), and maintenance meets my expectations.

The apartments insulate sounds from neighbors pretty well, and I rarely hear (or even see) other dwellers. Street noise can be pretty loud, especially in the summer because you'll have your windows open because there is no air conditioning. Some resident will throw a blowout party every few months that goes well into early morning that makes you think you're back in the college dorms.

I've spent some time on the roof deck to catch some sun, grill some steaks, sit and enjoy a glass of wine, or watch the city lights and stars at night. It's a nice feature, though admittedly it's really about the only included amenity.

I don't see that paying $50 for parking is a huge deal (especially considering how much you pay for rent), as it's relatively secure and convenient, and way better than trying to find a spot near the complex, where parking enforcement is fierce.

Its ideal location across from Kirkland Park Place includes shopping, services, and restaurants, though Park Place is due for a huge renovation which may give prospective long-term renters pause. It's a 7-10 minute walk down to Lake Washington, and the neighborhoods around the apartment are generally safe and nice for a walk or run, though late at night Peter Kirk Park is a popular teen hangout.

I really like living there. You're definitely paying for the location and it is better than most of the other larger apartment complexes in the immediate area.
